Howdy all! Longtime user here and Q-follower since Nov. 2, 2017, though I'm not an autist and don't post much.
I wonder if you'd be willing to weigh in on a couple of things that have been on my mind for awhile, particularly if you're a reader, and/or you have or know kids of your own.
To begin, I'm a writer working on my first novel, a cheerful and timely tale about what happens when a group of middle-school-age young patriots discover that someone is trying to buy up all rights to the Fourth of July. My hope is for it to be a story that all Americans from age 10 or so and up can appreciate and maybe be a bit inspired by. It will definitely be very MAGA-friendly!
Watching PDJT's Bronx rally last night inspired me so much because it showed up the positive, can-do American spirit so many of us decent folks, even in the most unexpected places, carry within us, even through some pretty dark times the past few years. That's a big part of what this story I'm writing is for.
So my questions to you frens are:
Do you think that a story like this would appeal to the young adults you know? If so, what do you think they would like to see included in the story?
Do you know of any similarly themed young-adult stories out there nowadays, appealing to MAGA types? If so, could you give some details?
And finally, do you think that young-adult stories like this could be valuable in connecting with the younger generations to help build a better future for America and for the world?
Thanks very much for any thoughts you'd care to share! Cheers.
EDIT TO ADD: Wow, thank you so much to all who've replied so quickly and with such great tips and thoughts! Your input is a real motivator for me to keep at it and get the story done! Please keep the responses coming anytime. :~)
Yes write the story. I think it’s a great storyline. I don’t know any young kids at this point in time in my life, however… There needs to be alternative books for kids to seek out and read.
Edit: I’m sure there’s plenty of stories that have occurred over the last year of kids who were supported by their community after being told they can’t wear their American flags.
I can’t remember all the details, however… One kid was told he couldn’t have his American flag on his truck. That went south for the school, and then somebody actually paid for his entire truck to be painted as an American flag
Was also another young kid that made the news, but I can’t remember what it was. They told him he couldn’t do. But he was in the news and he had a jacket that was made out of American flag material.
Also, there was a little kid that was overweight who was told he couldn’t be patriotic, and he ended up wearing an entire outfit, pants, shirt, and a flag as a cape to school.
Good times
And, a bunch of other kids showed up to school with American flags on their vehicles in support of the the young man who was suspended for having a flag on his truck. Then, someone donated their skills to decal that entire truck like an American flag. A dying boy's last wish was to have his body transported to the cemetery in that truck. The young man and his father drove thru several states to fulfill that wish. So cool!
I didn’t know that. That’s fantastic. 🇺🇸
Holy moly. I never heard about this. Powerful stuff and very MAGA.
Here's an article and video

Amazing. What a fine young man. Nice to see this kind of heartfelt gesture make the news.
Hi again! Replying to your edits: those are some great ideas for inspiration. Thanks for the food for thought! :~)
Wow, thanks! I'm definitely going to get it finished, aiming for the first week in June. Would be great to have it ready at least for pre-order by the Fourth this year.
I agree, there doesn't seem to be much freedom-focused good wholesome reading material out there currently for young people. Wondering what I might not be aware of, though.
Cheers!
Just keep grinding away at it. I used to write, and there’s a couple books I’ve written, but they were never published, but at least I did finish them. I was proud that I did.
I think this would be a fantastic book for kids.
Oops, I meant to ask -- what are your books about? I'd love to get to chat with any MAGA-groovin' writers who might be interested!
children’s books
And a book that I wrote called
Helping Yourself by Hating Others 😂😂
(but the chapters were topical - not consecutive)
That was my short stint away from the Lord. But it’s really not about what you think it is! it’s more about seeing the world for what it is, and not being a victim
Now that I’m back with Jesus I was going to write another book
Helping Others by Loving Yourself
But the Bible doesn’t teach us to love ourselves. So I gave up on that idea.
I was going to put both books together, so if you held the book upright, it would be one book and if you flipped it over, it would be the other book. Both ends of the books would end in the middle. Clever, huh? 🤔
Anyway I’ve moved on with my life since then, and I can’t with all good conscious. Try to put those two books together and publish them. The important thing is I started something and completed it.
I completely understand. Sometimes we just need to put the dark, or confusing, or ugly stuff outside of us before we can let go and move forward.
That said, of course, the Bible does exhort us to love our neighbors as ourselves -- which means (to me anyway) that a humble, honest sort of self-love, or maybe self-care, is indeed what we are asked to bring to ourselves and to others.
Maybe lovingkindness (isn't that a Buddhist concept?) would be a better term for it.
But yes, in the end, delivering on what we say we'll do is very meaningful, and rewarding in its own way. Well done to you!
🥰🙏
Whoa, thanks for the encouragement! No worries, it will be finished, and soon.
I really appreciate your feedback that the story would appeal to young people.
You're putting too much thought into this. Write the story you feel inspired to write.
Well, I'm doing that, for sure. :~)
Was mainly wondering if there's already a MAGA-style outreach going on for young people. I hear a lot about GenZ or GenAlpla being pretty based, so it would be great to offer them some good reads!
i live with a very patriotic 10 year old. we've been to a lot of rallies & are seeing more kids, but they're not as studious as mine, they're into wearing costumes & getting their picture taken. I'm glad they're there, but I also want to make them sit down and read a history book😄 (Im a bossy teacher:)
so what I think they need, and what General Flynn talked about the other night at his movie; people should know truth about founding fathers etc. so if I were to write a book for kids, I'd incorporate a lot of history, interesting facts etc. preteens are sponges once you get them searching. And they can learn on their own with the right material. for example; a series about the founding fathers as boys, why they were So patriotic, etc. and then show what they actually did as adults, young people love rags to riches stories🇺🇸
WOW! This is awesome info! Thank you, fren.
I can promise, there will be some patriotic true-history material in the story, which is set in D.C. and involves some sightseeing tours there.
Having worked with young people (mainly middle-schoolers) myself for many years, I heartily agree that they love the interesting facts and real-life stories -- plus the chance to see and even touch real artifacts. But that was some time ago, so I really appreciate your confirmation that the door is still open to reach at least some of them.
After all, MAGA needs a solid foundation for the future along with high energy in the present!
you're welcome! love to help if I'm fairly proficient in something. definitely not someone you would ask about sports or card games🤡
have you been on the sightseeing tours? we were thinking about a homeschool field trip, but after driving in Milwaukee I don't know if I could handle it.
Actually I used to give tours there and elsewhere. :~) So message me if you're thinking about going. It's been quite awhile, but I'd be happy to offer some general tips and tricks.
yes, I'll remember that, we like simple... example of what we're used to on vacation🐸 https://youtu.be/Y09TOJTUwBw?
would be helpful to be able to ask a few questions/how to avoid traffic/crowds:)
Kek! I doubt you'll find much peace cruising the highways around D.C.
Does GA.win have a private message functionality? Don't want to clog up this thread, but am happy to help. One thing I'd recommend is traveling there in October through mid-November, when crowds are smaller but weather is generally good.
Just write it. Sounds like a better premise than most.

Will do! Thanks very much.
The answer that first pops to mind is young people today don’t read books. Maybe a funny movie like the Grinch Who Stole Christmas would do OK. Or perhaps if you joined forces with a game creator who could use your thoughts to craft a game story that the player would navigate through in order to save July 4th. But as a stand alone book, it’s a lost cause.
Those are excellent suggestions, fren, thanks! I agree, multi-faceted media is the way nowadays.
I still hope and trust, though, and in fact I've seen, that some young people still love real books or e-books. Otherwise, why would there be so much controversy lately over woke crap books in school libraries? ;~)
I remember a time when the most looked at item in the school library was a dog-earred copy of National Geographic with naked African tribeswomen. Everything else in that library looked untouched.
Sad! (channeling PDJT here!)
I guess it depends on circumstances to a degree. When I was a sprout, we had a weekly class period in the school library and I checked out books all the time, learned to take notes on index cards when doing research, etc.
Not so common nowadays.
Sounds like a Patriot version of the Grinch who stole Christmas!
Top kek! ;~) Yes, that's a great way to put it.
In this case, the "Grinch" will have a cabal of cronies in the capital! And the Whos will find some unexpected support in high places as well.
Create a group of kid heroes (Iron Eagle). The Fourth of July parade is canceled by the evil democrats. So they put on the whole parade themselves by pulling all kinds of resources from patriots in the town.
Love it, fren! We are on similar wavelengths. ;~) Thanks!
Against the Grain YA
Phil Williams is a libertarian author. Some of his books have sexual scenes that I'm not gonna hand to my kids but some of this books have been turned into Young Adult editions.
Nice lead, thanks very much! I'll definitely check it out.
You could try reaching out to Kash Patel with this question. He wrote The Plot Against The King about the persecution of Trump and framed it as a children's story. I think he is based enough to respond and answer your questions.
Fantastic idea! Thank you very much!
Keep us posted as to whether it works out.
Thank you! I'll be happy to.
V For Vendetta Summary Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, V for Vendetta tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked vigilante (Hugo Weaving) known only as "V."
