I’m assuming an appeal was immediately made or will soon be if not yet done so. Would he still be sentenced before anything is done with an appeal? Is there any way it gets tied up in courts beyond Election Day? I’m just wondering how likely it is he has to serve any time whatsoever prior to the election. As of now it’s set for July 11, but might this get pushed back?
I am almost 100% certain that they will throw the book at him and give him as much jail time as they can. I’ve heard some people say they’ll just hit him with a very hefty fine, but they want him in prison. If that’s an option, they’ll do it.
The democrats clearly want President Trump in a prison cell for their optics. Logistically, this would be a constitutional crisis scenario. All former Presidents get secret service protection. This is an unprecedented occurrence in United States politics. It has literally never happened before. We are in uncharted waters on this one.
The democrats would be in total favor of revoking secret service protection and sending President Trump into an unguarded prison environment. An Epstein situation would be possible under such circumstances.

Fining him won't have the effect they wanted. They already demanded his financials, so they could tie up all his cash on the bond, instead of using it for campaigning. That went out the window with his recent billion-dollar IPO. Bond pending appeal same effect.
The quota hires in NY Appeals are a rubber stamp. This is going to SCOTUS. The only real question now, is how long?
Normally a paper crime would just be probation, and that could be the case. But with the sentencing 4 days before the convention, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried sending him to jail just to screw with the nominating process.
