Does he have any idea how much it costs to have and raise a child today?
I know that you cannot measure a child's worth in money... I am just saying that financial means is a huge deterrent to adults who have a sense of responsibility and who are not trying to game the system.
Agreed. But it is still expensive. Food, healthcare and insurance, clothing, space (size of house or apartment), things like a crib, stroller, etc. Then, because you aren't fortunate enough to be a high income family, both must work, so daycare costs (which I am a stay at home mom or dad supporter if feasible), etc.
Most people cannot grow their own food or make their own clothes.
I know you have a difficult time thinking about other people and from their perspective. So, let me help.
Not everyone is as faithful and you and me regarding bringing children into the world and seeing such a gift from God as worth it no matter what.
In fact, there are many, many people who would be wonderful parents but who choose not to have children because they see the world through a financial lens. They don't have a "so what" attitude.
And, there are many people who have children and who are horrible parents, regardless of their finances, but that's a different point.
My simple point is that Elon's statement is more complex to implement than his simplicity indicates. I wish everyone could be more like you, though.
The same people who demand we have children are the same ones to balk at any kind of welfare program meant to help working American families. Yes, it's very easy indeed to tell people to go have children as long as you're not the one paying for it.
Is Elon financially sponsoring each new baby?

There is no greater treasure in the world then to have and raise your own child.
Absolutely agree. I have 4. I think down-voters missed my point.
So what?

Well said!!!
Thatโs also another major consideration.
