DeSantis and the FL Legislature needs to follow this lead. I live in Volusia County and our property "taxes" have gone up almost $2K in just the past 2 yrs. I now pay over $5K yearly...for a 1/4 acre lot with a house that's wood frame and over 30 yrs old. While new home construction in my area is going for well over $300K on a lot half our size. They're cramming two 2000 sqft homes into 1/8 acre lots by turning them sideways. It's ridiculous.

Not only is property tax a money grab, it is a land grab with repossession of your paid off property being the goal. Michigan is pushing to get a proposal for a constitutional amendment to eliminate property tax on November's ballot. Any Michiganders should visit axmitax.org to find a place to sign, or get petitions.
