It's actually every thing - you know how medical billing has codes for each procedure so do the dealerships for repairs - they can't enter anything into the computers to order parts etc. Happened when I use to work for a medical office the hackers came in through the fax machine that saved files in a folder on the server. Took about a month to recreate 4 days worth of work, mostly for the FBI to investigate. Car repairs are almost impossible.
I dodged a bullet here. I was going to take my truck to the stealership for some warranty work. I need my truck for work and any delay would have cost me thousands.
Dealership car buying is done anyway. If they can go forward with 50 thousand plus dollar vehicles and actually sell them it won’t happen at a dealership. They been taking poison for years, now they’re starting to dye.
You’d be surprised how many people are spending that much money plus more. I’ve only been there since Feb. and we’ve sold a lot, new and used. And it’s not the dealership that makes the big bucks on new vehicles, you can thank the auto unions for that, I see the invoices. Financing and added warranty products is where they make their money.
Have to say my giveadamn's busted when it comes to car dealers.
I work at a Ford Dealership. Accounting, payroll, deal contracts, scheduling and billing in the shop…..most everything runs through this software.
Citrix?
I guess: It’s to complex for diversity hires to understand how NOT to break it. They only learned what’s misogyny, homophobia and racism.
From everything I've seen on car dealers' lots in my area, everything is already frozen.

We had three orders for parts fail to arrive this week. It's not just automotive.

It’s even stopped parts from being sold to repair shops. This will ripple for weeks even if they get it resolved by the end of the weekend.
this looks bigley
Not just autos, guy posted earlier on here that he works for John Deere and they use the same software.
Yep that was me. It's a struggle trying to get farmers parts.
