There are HUNDREDS and THOUSANDS of us still suffering with a loan that we should have NEVER had to take out. There are so many small businesses, that managed to survive the COVID nonsense, who are STILL struggling to get caught up.
The hardship programs are just a temporary bandaid. The loan terms are 30 years and people are struggling to make their payments. What happens when it is sent to Treasury you ask? They shorten the term to roughly 10 years and tack on a 10% fee. What a JOY!
Putting this into his campaign would be huge for the heart of America.
Feeling frustrated this morning that we have been forgotten about. I could go on and on. 😞 Thanks for listening. 🖤
So we taxpayers need to pay for your loan too? Ask Joe, he’ll be glad to have us pay it for you...
You must be having a rough morning. I hope it gets better.
Im passionate about small business continuing to be a huge part of our communities. We were forced into a situation that should have never been. It was lose everything or take this loan. We had rent to pay. There were obligated contracts to pay. Oddly enough, vendors still wanted their money and employees still wanted to be paid.
There are so many others in this exact same situation and it breaks my heart. This situation is destroying decades old businesses.
I suppose if you're ok with small businesses no longer existing and just handing more of our hard earned money to the top dogs, then sure....let's just keep going the way we're going.
My business was closed for a few months too. I used savings and frugality to get by. I had rent to pay as well. My inventory was trapped in a closed building that I couldn’t access for months. I still haven’t recovered fully. I didn’t take their EIDL money. I could see it was a trap. I also paid for my daughters college and didn’t have her take out college loans that other will pay back. I also do not have others pay for my food, rent or welfare and I am opposed to doing that for others not obviously disabled. Sorry, no. You took the loan, YOU pay it back.
The shut- down was government caused. It was essentially a “taking.”
Like the fake debt currency , was a "taking" of money. When money returns debt currency will be cheap...most won't want or need it. Those with loans may need it for a while.
Your stance is probably one I would have as well if I hadn't lived through this nightmare.
I am feeling grateful you were in a financial place to make the decision you did.
Sadly, our business was a year and a half old with a large 7A, plus operating expenses, hanging over our heads. It wasn't in the cards to personal fund this business. We had no option.
We aren't going to agree on this, so this will be my last reply. Have a great day.
I agree with you! I had two small child-centric businesses - one that I took an EIDL loan to try to save, one that didn’t qualify. Because I refused to participate in child abuse (forced masking), I closed for a few months. When it became obvious that the nightmare was real, I chose to close both businesses permanently, sold my building at a huge loss and have spent the last four years dedicating my life to fighting against this corrupt and evil government. Now I pay the EIDL loan out of my own pocket. I should be suing the government for all these damages, but alas, I have losses and loans to pay off, so the cost to sue does not fit into the equation. That’s ok. God’s got a plan for these evil people - 7 times what they took comes to mind.
I'm so sorry you have to feel this pain, too. I am hopeful our fights will cease and relief will come for those of us that genuinely need it!
Great idea since the government intentionally put small business in the position of being forced to borrow to survive. This make a way more sense than giving students loan forgiveness, especially those majoring in useless shit anyway.
I honestly hate the idea of it all, but living this situation has really opened my eyes. I agree with you... It definitely makes more sense than student loans!
Email him and his campaign managers.
Thank you for this idea! (Face palm at the ease of this)
I'm an exhausted parent and sometimes simple solutions require guidance from others. I appreciate the help.
For those of you who are opposed to repaying this, remember these loans helped businesses stay open so they could keep people employed so they could also continue to work and feed their families. Those companies that kept you employed most likely took out a loan to do so. Then those people were able to spend money and support other businesses and kept our economy going so it could recover. Therefore most of us benefited from the EIDL loans. (Ask your employer if they had to take a loan and your tune might change) Now we ask these small businesses to float the bill for keeping our economy going and keeping people employed. This comes full circle whether you like it or not.
This is a beautiful perspective!!
We want our diamonds back, they robbed us and think they can just walk away, HELL NO, they must be stopped for all of humanities sake.....TRIBUNALS for all crimes against humanity, especially against children!
I shut down my business in 2021 after 36 years pf prosperity. I dumped money into it for over a year to keep it going but since I am in my 70's I just decided to close rather than apply for covid relief money.
I learned my lesson is 2008 and had all my equipment loans paid off except for a truck. Materials was a different story but I muddled through for the couple months they closed the building departments and didnt let us work in Michigan. Finally one of my builders said fuck it and we worked without inspection on already permitted work. Never did ask him about the fall out from that but nothing happened to me. Soon after that the building departments opened back up.
One of my suppliers put stickers on their trucks saying we had to remain 6 feet away from the truck and we couldnt use the hose to wash our tools only the driver could. Stopped using them and havent gone back.
We definitely wish we would have chosen differently. I'm so sorry to hear that things had to close.
It took a while for me to get used to retirement since I started working when I was in the 3rd grade mowing yards in the neighborhood in Houston. Retirement has gotten better in the last year or so since I am getting used to being at home around the little lady all the time. I've had to learn to keep my mouth shut unless I am spoken to! Keke
