This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.

Insomnia f'n PLAUGES me.
The trick I use is watch ASMR slime videos and then when I sleep, ask Jesus to hug me to sleep. Works like a miracle, sleep soundly and instantly without a care.
I go in spells with good and poor sleep. Experts say it’s due to anxiety, stress, blue screens (one or all). Maybe that’s true but my dad is the same as me ad so was his mom. I believe it’s genetic. It doesn’t matter if I take multiple sedating drugs I’m still awake so I don’t bother with them. There weren’t any blue screens in the 70s and TV stations went off the air at midnight. When I spent the night with my grandmother I’d wake up and she was up reading or playing rummy with herself or solitaire.

now that I think of it I had my cat kinda on my belly / my side last night and i couldn't sleep for awhile. My depression led me back to drinking so my stomach was killing me (pancreatitis several times before)..... i had been laying there for easily an hour just kinda petting him and letting out the occasional groan of pain
then i prayed and thats kinda the last thing i remember before i woke up
Praying you get back on the wagon. My dad’s family (brother, cousins, uncles) has a history of alcoholism. I was once an alcoholic believe or not in high school. I’d say most everyone I knew was an alcoholic or weed addict. My vice is chocolate and sweets. It’s been seven months on carnivore and I still crave sweets. Addiction isn’t fun! Glad you finally feel asleep and hopefully feeling better.
