Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I’ve found that the advice given by Michael Savage works for me. If your head is going a million miles an hour, let it go. Just because society says you are supposed to eat three times a day, sleep eight hours a night, etc., your body doesn’t always follow that schedule. I’ve found that if I think that I should get up and do something when I’m not going to sleep, I fall right out! Sometimes, the biggest head game you face is your own.
My mind is always going in a thousand different directions. I’ll be asleep for less than an hour and wide awake and don’t get back to sleep for a couple hours. Past two nights I’ve had about one to two hours each night. My body will get tired and eventually I’ll crash.
Yeah when in Ketosis I get so tense it's hard to sleep..brain still active, tense, in superb energy mode.. that's why once every 2 weeks I have to eat carbs just to calm down and sleep better.
I didn’t know being in Ketosis kept your brain active at night. I should sleep better tonight I’m exhausted, had granddaughter two days this week and it’s so hot it’s making me tired. Icing on the cake I just ate half a bojangles biscuit. We didn’t have time to cook so we split a chicken tender box.
They think it used to be common for people to sleep in shifts, called “biphasic” sleep, and get up and do something for a while in the middle of the night.
Really? I’ll have to look this up. Thank you!
...doggy winks...
...I function on 4 hours of sleep a day...
Damn. I was like that for about 4-5 years. I try to be horizontal for 7-8 hours, even if I’m not sleeping, at the advice of Barbara O’Neill. The big thing is getting past the shoulder pain atm. That’s what gets me out of bed. In the winter, it’s all kinds of aches and pains😌. I see how you’re getting us all this information!
...howls...
...I can sleep when I am dead...
so Barbara O’Neill talks about being horizontal for 7 to 8 hours a day? Interesting I would like to know more.

Look on her channel on telegram. A lot of internal repair happens in those hours. Let me see if I can find the link.
