good point. hmmm...
how do we solve for this? voter ID?
where does it stop? drivers licenses? I've heard those are unconstitutional too somehow.
I mean, gotta be realistic here. Wanna live off the books and outside the system? OK fine, but you would need to register to vote, have a state issued license, etc.
I see property ownership as being another grey area. It's none of the govts business what I do with my land and duly shouldn't be taxed simply for ownership (outside of perhaps county and state tax) but that also must be documented in a sense, for how would one even prove they own example given property.
I say take everything back to 1899 status. Only a handful of federal agencies. No federal requirements or hurdles or red tape. Imagine a world with like 4 or 5 federal agencies: Dept of State. Dept of Treasury. Dept of Agriculture. Dept of War. Dept of Public Works.
Done & done.
I would gladly give up all this technology to wake up in a world before it came. Im 35, catch myself watching alot of the old westerns these days. Was those days spot free of problems? hell no. but, they werent trapped in this matrix.
You might ask Billie The Kid about that. In the newest movie series he protects the poor Mexican farmers from a secret society called the Santa Fe ring.
The Organic Act of 1871 started the ball rolling with the change from USA to USA, Inc. from what I've gathered. Yes, we still have to have some sort of ID, but getting fined for not having it when a law officer pulling you over and has your photo pulled up on his computer along with your entire legal history is BS.
not having an ID on you should not be a crime, it should just exclude you from certain things, such as voting or running for office. Bring that shit with you.
they can just type you into the computer via name if you break the law without it.
if it doesn't show up they can arrest for false id on top of the crime
Traffic stop laws need to be revamped though, way too many cops mutilate the probable cause doctrine.
I like this more than the rest of the comments in here
In 1899 there weren’t corporations dumping micro plastics and forever chemicals into the water and food supplies. Along with protecting our personal rights via law & order, government as the embodiment of the citizens’ political consensus should protect and manage nature. And that’s about it. No need for government to get its dirty fingers in people’s abstract activities such as education, healthcare, retirement planning, charity, etc, which should all be traded for privately and voluntarily.
Can non-citizen get a drivers license? Perhaps not good as a voter ID.
