I have no idea why I am laughing so hard at the thought of opening paint and getting the BSOD.
My days with Windows are almost over. I'm going back to Linux. Only reason I switched was due to some contract work I had many years ago.
Lolol now that's comedy 😁😁😁
Yeah... wish I could completely scuttle windows but high end engineering software/hardware not supported on Linux yet...
vmware is free now for personal use
Have the same issue in a way. If I want to do some work at home, the SW only runs on Windoze. A Linux version is supposed to be in the works, but cross compatibility would be required for the applications to run on existing equipment.
What kind of high end software. I used to use protools and finale (I'm a musician) and there are now FOSS alternatives that are better. Been 100% off windoze since 2015
For everything I do, I usually require that the client setup a jump box that I connect to that has all the tools/apps I need to do my work. If I was running a command over a local client access protocol and the connection was disrupted, the command would end, and that would not be good.
There may be Linux apps to do same thing, but the time it would take me to install them, and become proficient with them (figure them out), I don't want to have to screw with them.
Look at the screen utility on Linux
man screen
What kind of engineering?
The anonymous kind...
