The lack of reflection or self-awareness is really something to witness. I guess I assumed more would start questioning by this point, but the Party commands them otherwise
I think more and more are… but it’s disheartening how many people still completely outsource their brain to the media.
We just witnessed a literal planned coup in which the media created a fake narrative to replace him, in front of all of our own eyes.
And many people still don’t see it. I don’t know how we overcome that barring a full media industry collapse.

And? Are they wrong? These people believe what they're told to believe, no matter what their eyes tell them. Their very existence as a large enough population cohort is a significant threat to the long-term political and economic stability of human civilization. What happens when our side loses control and the government goes rogue again in 30 years and they just go along with it because that's what they're told to believe? The whole goddamn cycle repeats itself and we go through another hundred years of darkness and tyranny and oppression and poverty and our grandchildren wake up homeless once again in the land that we bled to create. The compliance at this point has been bred into them. They are too docile to be good citizens of a republic, and we cannot trust anyone to be their Shepherd except for maybe the Lord, but Jesus so far hasn't really shown much of an interest in being the autocrat of the world, leaving the job up to flawed and corruptible humans. The only way this can be managed is to separate the wheat from the chaff, The weak from the strong, The smart from the stupid and easily manipulated. If not by killing them, if not by sterilizing them, then by separating them and containing them and leaving systems in place so that the worthy among them can rise according to their ability and virtue while the worthless have their ability to harm contained.

Yes, they're wrong. We do not purge people for wrongthink like they do.
Their thinking isn't the problem, it's their consistently practiced actions that are egregious, if not evil.
The coming hardship will force them to develop critical thinking skills in order to survive.
I increasingly find this to be the case.
Mass executing people for being "dumb" is patently evil and can't be done, but these people aren't just a mere annoyance, they're an active detriment to everyone's lives, including their own.
It's a hard problem, I don't know the solution, and again a mass culling is out of the question, but I don't see how the vast majority of NPCs are magically going to become functioning humans as opposed to just being NPCs but with new programming.
