Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Best thing he can do is prioritize LISS cardio over everything. Liss cardio produces results independent of weight and can reverse heart disease. So we look at two metrics over BMI, which are nutrition and RHR/vo2.
So his weight will never be where someone might want it, but his actual health can be equivalent to that of someone in a normal BMI range.
Because of his hormonal profile, I would suggest eliminating TMAO in the diet and switching to a2 dairy or sheep/goat everything for milk, cheese, yogurt, etc
I have no idea what TMAO is. Trimethylamine N-oxide? So, eliminate fish and shellfish?
LISS I know from advice I got here over a year ago, from when I was recovering from food poisoning.
And if this is the A2 dairy you're talking about, I have NEVER seen that in stores anywhere. Whole Foods, perhaps? The sheep/goat milk thing would probably be simpler...
I think you can get A2 dairy from local farmers that sells raw milk. If they sell A2/A2, that is literally the same thing as A2, except A2 is trademarked or copyrighted (can't remember which) so local farmers can't label it as "A2", so to bypass that, they label it as "A2/A2".
eliminate beef and certain shellfish. Chicken, salmon, tuna, shrimp, and occassional pork. Goal is to reduce inflamation without.
You are right, sheep and goat dairy will be easier. does he have a trader joe's?
Most of his meals are chicken, salmon, tuna and pork.
The nearest Trader Joe's is about three hours from him. No Aldi either.
