Just when I think the media can't sink lower, I am once again awestruck at its rotteness. Good for the good people of Seattle for calling this scum of a tabloid out.
Recently, I was in a health situation where I had a week with plenty of time to find something to do while there wasn't much to do. (a patient gotta have patience kek)
Anyway, I had a copy at home but in their small selection of reading material - they happened to have an ol' copy of 1984. So - I decided to read it again.
Those that haven't read that book yet definitely should. It's dumbfounding how so many elements of this "dystopian sci-fi" is just...our lives in 2024. This post made me think of in particular, the job that the main character had. Except, instead of having to send all the censored/altered news into literal incinerators through tubes...Their job is much easier in a digital age.
It makes you wonder how little about the past, even as little as a century ago much less "before USA existed", we actually know. We only know what they've told us.
Like, "the TV watches YOUUUU" sounds like a scrapped Yakov Smirnoff joke. But, if you consider how many people watch their media through phones/tablets/laptops - those have a camera pointed right at you.
Seattleβs central neighborhoods have the densest population of Jewish households in the metropolitan area, and the numbers are growing.
The highest density of Jewish households in the city was found around the 98122 zip code, which includes Capitol Hill, the Central District, and Madrona.

Would establishing an "autonomous zone" be akin to sedition?
