My sister had 2 cats plus the one her daughter dumped on her. I bought her a condo and she paid me payments on the 7-year loan I gave her. Her house was so disgusting!. I could smell it from the parking lot. So much cat shit and pee the baseboards were rotten. The roofed cat litter box was piled high in catshit. Cans will use a clean litter box, but will just go anywhere rather than climb on top of the pile of poop. She destroyed that condo, she was like that in her rental before that, but I was trying to renew our bond and thought she would do better where she owned.
She smelled bad too, and got away with it as a drama teacher. Her clothes were permeated with the smell. She always blamed in on her health problems which were largely caused by her filthy living. I tried to get her Libtard daughter to get rid of the cats, they cleaned up several times, but the cats remained until they died of old age, all three within a year. My sister borrowed money for cat funerals...
I have had both cats and dogs and love pets, but I have never ever had a cat that pooped or peed outside the litter box. You bring the kitten home and plop them down in that clean litter box and they automatically will use it. Wild cats bury their waste to avoid problems with rival predators. Even with just 1 cat you need to scoop the clumps daily or even more. When you detect odor you change it and wash the litter box even if its only been a few days.
True, unfortunately we had a cat pass away a couple weeks ago…. Same as humans, once they get so sick they can’t hold their urine, and I think because she was having a hard time getting into the litter box, she ended up going on the rugs, so we set her up a special rug she could use - rugs are cheap RIP kitty we miss you 😿😭
