not Q related ik but I got no money so I can't really donate much of anything but I got all the time in the world and then some, so I figured I'd see if there's anything I can actually do to help out after the storm
thing is I have no idea where to even start looking so I figured I'd just ask here and hopefully someone can point me towards something (or tell me how stupid I am for asking, idk)
Samaritan’s Purse (Christian organization) is looking for volunteers beginning on Sept 30th.
Here’s a link:

Yes. SP. Not fema or red cross! Wondering if you could find others from your state who want to go there and help, maybe get transportation.
I traveled with a local church to help out during Katrina, so maybe there is a church local to you that is sending people / resources?
sorry for the stupid question but where would I be able to find such information? do I just walk in and say "I wanna go help in asheville" or something?
Not a stupid question! In my case, I knew some people who went to a church that was going to help, so I just tagged along. I'd ask your friends / acquaintances to see if anyone has those contacts. Alternatively, you could call around to local churches and let them know that you're looking to volunteer.
thanks much
I saw Patriot Front was there helping.
If you’re local and have a chainsaw you can help by removing trees from roads. They are downed trees everywhere.
There are a good Christian organizations that send teams to disaster locations to lend a hand. My church is sending a team tomorrow morning. Search out several of the groups and see if you can join one of them. I do not recommend working with FEMA or the Red Cross unless you can help learn their inner workings of corruption and become a whistleblower.
There are many faith-based disaster relief organizations. Check with your church or a nearby one that suits your belief background.
thanks for the replies and shoutout to the ignorant douche in my DMs lol
I don't know either. Maybe start with FEMA. I saw someone post earlier that your own local emergency response teams might be able to suggest what you can do, even if you're far away. They might have communication with their counterparts in NC who can give them instruction. It's great you want to help and I hope you find a good way to contribute. Thank you for caring.
Not FEMA or the Red Cross. One is government and the other is fraudulent.
But I repeat myself…
