Phones already have this. Your PC’s already have this. Being installed in a Ford shouldn’t raise alarms. I mean…who buys a Ford nowadays? Severely misinformed people about the quality of vehicles that’s who, lol.
Consider this. If the feds impound your car they could access this info. Maybe they want your movements, maybe they want to use whatever smart tech in the Ford to open some doors in your house. If you don't have a garage but do have a smart lock they could use that. They could also turn off/on lights before a raid. Maybe they will even be able to access the device remotely (like a smart meter)...
They may not simply be able to use your phone if they can't get into it, but tech in a car could have the same functions - likely without strong encryption. It will also be a boon for burglars.
I feel the opposite. Fords used to be good. My Dad has always been a Ford man. For 50+years. He’s only recently thinking of switching to Toyota. Ford use to have metal bolts. They use plastic a lot today. Bumpers falling off. My dad went through that personally. Was shameful. And not just Ford. Chevy, GMC, Dodge. Ain’t worth much nowadays.
Toyota of the past few years is a no go by all accounts. Personally I'm sticking with my 2001 Tacoma and 1995 Hiace until I run them into the ground. Then I'll look for a 3d gen 4runner or something else at least 15 years old.
About right. A lot of everything these past few years has been taking a nosedive. I mean I know everything break down eventually. But those older Toyota’s and even older Nissan's were ironclad.
I have a 2018 with 183k, runs like a top. But the mere suggestion of this won't have me buying another. I like the Tacoma, well built and not a unionized company. I'd buy American if the commies didn't have unions building everything. I'm finished with that crap.

Fords used to suck.. Outside of a Saturn, I’ve only owned Fords.

I'm very happy with my Roush mustang.
It's only half ford I guess.
