I feel badly that it took me this long to realize it -- but unequivocally, YES. These bastards, whomever they are, DEFINITELY have to be manipulating weather. I've never seen hurricane/flooding damage like this in my lifetime...and I'm old enough to remember and witness how bad Hurricane Agnes and associated flooding was in central PA back in 1972.
Whoever gave the nod to "ramp up" Helene prior to landfall, needs to be made to suffer worse than the people of western NC are right now.

Anyone ever hear of a hurricane remaining that powerful over land so far from the coast? Blowing through mountains etc?
That is what I'm thinking about. Nope. Hurricanes are fueled by being over warm water, not land. Verrrry strange.
