Fences work both ways. They either keep others OUT.... or they keep people IN.
If I wanted to mass arrest corrupt lawmakers that were involved in election fraud... I'd put up fencing like that, and tell them it's for their own protection. :>)
By the time they understood that the fencing is to prevent them from leaving... it's too late.
There’s the implication of numerous Vaults on the Property. As up until the 1970s the Treasury Building was a distribution point of physical currency such as coinage to Banks within the Washington D.C area. From the aptly named “Cash Room”. And if there’s Vaults there. It’s unlikely they remained Empty just because there was no more distribution from the Treasury Building.
There’s also Historic Artifacts there. Not to mention information is often just as good as money to the right people. And the Offices containing Treasury information. Not to mention the working offices of Cabinet members would be tempting targets.
Follow THE nose, it always knows. All noses lead to such places as the Treasury. There's probably a huge vault full of little beaky trolls rubbing their hands together.
This is only like the 3rd or 4th times they've done this since 2021. I don't even consider it to be notable anymore. I still remember how many times r/Superstonk got excited whenever a fence went up around the Treasury or SEC office then nothing occurred.
Now do the Southern border
Excellent comment.
Underrated comment of the day

Heh, why the Treasury, of all places? There's no money kept there, just offices and such. Why not SCOTUS?

The answer may be related to the old adage 'If you want to know who owns you, ask yourself who you're not allowed to criticize'.

Tampon tim sells ladders higher than fences, allegedly.
why the treasury? theres nothing in it ...would be better to protect the toilet paper at costco
Too late, they’re out. Only got the Charmin for $29
These are hard times.
Gonna have to wipe with both sides.
Folding gonna be difficult
...per THIS VIDEO there are also fences going up around Kamala's residence as well as Mar-A-Lago.
This video also mentions that snipers are being deployed with the NG to patrol polling stations.
I did a quick search and the Washington Post has reported that it is true.
All seems like reasonable protocol, considering the expectation of riots.
Damn, I'd love to have the fencing franchise in DC....
Remember when they used to do this all the time for elections? Neither do I. I guess once you can't fool the people anymore, this is the result.
