I truly appreciate how they teach their boys the skills early. Two unsupervised teen boys working hard and knowing exactly what to do. This is the way it should be for all young people.
And then all the men working together to move that barn! Awesome.
Probably but I'm on the western slope of the Rockies and there's jurisdictional BS everywhere. I'd honestly love to help those in need but I'm barely surviving myself. Knowing my luck I'd wire something for a family in need and get arrested for operating an illegal contracting company. Elon discussed it with Joe Rogan yesterday, I'd restore electricity to people and get sued by the state, county and local power company.
Look what the Amish and locals have done in Asheville, North Carolina! The craftsmanship on these little homes and in record time, is amazing. God bless the USA! https://x.com/LucciaorLucy/status/1853807763576541195
As a nation we could take some pointers from the Amish. Not everything they do, but the gardening, farming, and self sufficiency stuff would sure help everyone.
When Amish folks are voting
Sure it's like a special thing
In the lilt of Amish voting
You can hear the angles sing
When Amish folks go voting
Makes the whole world bright and gay
For when Amish folks are voting
They will vote for Trump today.
Most of the Amish I know are allowed to use electricity if it's for work purposes. Obviously different Orders have different beliefs, but I'd say the chances are good they'll be using electricity for some of their work.
Also, the houses they're building are for non-Amish, so they'll be connected to the power grid.
actually I meant are they wiring the cabins for electricity. When I traveled through amish country I noticed they didn't have electricity in their self built homes.
Yeah, I went back and re-read your post and realized what you meant. My bad on not understanding. I edited my post, but didn't do it in time for you to see it.
If they're building for non-Amish, they would almost certainly be hooked up to the power grid. But there's always the possibility that non-Amish would want to go solar or micro hydro electric or some other form of energy source.
This is the type of story that really lifts the spirit. It's nice to see a post about something positive, for a change.
It's great to see people who actually do something to make a change. It really motivates me to go out and actually do something other than complain online about stuff.
Thanks for posting this. I think it helps so much to have more positive posts on social media.
After hurricane Katrina the Amish and Mennonites set up shop down here in south Louisiana. They helped my family and others get back on our feet. In fact all the church groups helped greatly. Now the government was a different story.
What about those that were left to die by the government? The people that lived in the areas where the billions of dollars worth of lithium and quartz are?

If anyone wants to fund me to go wire some houses and barns for these folks I will, I hear there ain't any decent Amish electricians.
I'm sure a Go-Fund-Me could be put together, don't you think?

That is awesome. I am left wondering however if they will be wired for electricity?

Better not tell FEMA.
Maybe Amish are the only real Americans around? Hopefully this pivotal moment will awaken us
