I think we can safely say Ballot measure 2 passed, repealing ranked choice in Alaska, Thank you lord. 99% counted still holds a 4k vote lead. Dear lord thank you.

I read a post (yesterday??) that basically said RCV had been defeated in every location that had it on the ballot EXCEPT for the shithole city known as Washington, DC. Given that they are 90%+ Democrats, they deserve that shit.

Always favors the demons. The only reason Begich hasn't won yet is because of this scam. He's got a 10k vote lead but because he isnt over 50% its going to go to round 2, so we'll see what happens. We have not a dem rep in forever till this scam came, its the only reason murcommieski is still our Senator, Kelly Tshibaka should be there.

Not quite - her last election was in 2022 so it will take 2 more to get her out. She is up in 2028.

Yes on ballot two was to repeal Rank voting. No on ballot two was to keep Rank voting. Fourteen million dollars spent of a “NO” One hundred fifty dollars spent on a Yes vote. Alaska U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who has made a career of working across the political aisle, endorsed a no vote on Ballot Measure 2. RINO, she got back in office due to RANK voting.
It was her staff that introduced and pushed it in the beginning... they knew she couldn't get elected any other way.

What is amazing is that it ever got approved. It's a shit idea and only benefits a corrupt government. Allowing the minority to hold and maintain power. Good riddance.
I don’t get it. Where is the deception? Or is it because it’s drafted to confuse the voter? What I envisioned was a system that would put an underdog on a fair playing field with the rest. No more voting for your second choice because your first choice would be “wasted”.
I'm not super understanding it either? Is it just because it's confusing to some people? An earlier document I saw said that ballots get tossed if there's no clear majority, but how is that different from normal voting? An example provided was 60 percent of an initial tally was for 2x Republicans, if people didn't pick the other conservative on the ballot as a second choice then yeah, conservatives could lose the election.
I still like the attempt to break the two party system. There are better vote reform methods out there
