The Joe McCarthy saga shows the power of the propaganda media and the rewriting of History.
At the start of McCarthy's investigations he had nearly universal support by the American People. As the investigations continued, the propaganda machine eroded that support until he was universally denounced. That denouncement continues in our History books as we learn bout the dangers of McCarthyism and it has become a warning to scare the people in a fairy tale like fashion.
The fact is that many of the people that McCarthy was investigating were communists.
To this day, Edward R. Murrow is venerated as a Hero of the People.
And Cronkite who followed.

This is what’s going on, Cocaine Mitch moves the election forward to force a quick reaction, he puts forward 2 completely unacceptable choices which force you to pick the seemingly tolerable 3rd choice. The 3rd choice ends up being the choice Mitch wanted all along and tricked you into thinking it was your idea. This is not a new concept in politics, it’s been around for a long time.
