YES!!!! Oh it was WONDERFUL!!! I was working in the digital preprint industry, and I was researching constantly, and so proud of my talent for finding the obscure. I could locate ANYTHING. I watched the search engines get turned into mush right in front of my face....
I agree with BOTH OF YOU...it is pretty damn hard also on technical stuff for example programming or engineering design...the "context" is so screwy you get lost in the "mush-mush"!!!!!!!!!!
Good thang I keep ALL my engineering/computer science books...They aren't watered down...they be from the '90s!!!!! And YES, I'm that OLD!!!!
If we are talking old here, my professional books go back to the 70's.

I worked at Cray Research. Remember Fortran, MVS, Sun Workstations, gallium arsenide...? And now gallium arsenide is back in the news. Oh, those were the good old days. I have some old Aviation Weeks that I 'borrowed' from the lobby talking about the F-20 Tiger Shark... Don't get me started... Boston's first album...
Worked at Cray in Seattle in the mid-90's. One of the best jobs I ever had, such a great group of people. Back in the days of massively parallel machines, and the vector machines - those were such good days.
Good to see an alma matter from the glory days.
