Oh, and this whole "10 results per page and you have to click Next Page and can't click ...27....302....756...Gooooooooooooogle" needs to be done away with also. Dirty rotten bastards I know exactly why they made it that way.
AND ANOTHER THING. There is no damn reason why the results have to be so large and padded between so as to make the page much longer than it needs to be. Scrunch that shit up tight so I can scroll 100 results in a minute, bitches! Or at least give me the option to set it that way!
Deep crawl Default too! Don't want your top 50 surface-scraping circle-jerk🖕
Who hurt you bro? kek! Also, yea I agree here. It's infuriating sometimes.
Because like OP I used to zing through search engines and hit rare and organic paydirt fairly easily and now it's just flooded with the same "approved slop" 🤬 fuck these motherfuckers they did it on purpose to hide the gems!!
Oh shit...
Peeps after my own heart ❤❤❤
The problem is that these services are "free" and make all their income from tracking and advertising.
While I hate subscriptions, I find that search is something I use so often that it's worth paying for a quality alternative. I'm using Kagi which has a free trial if you want to check it out. Their search is entirely subscription based and they take no money for advertising. The results are much more like the old days of Google.
Hmm. It looks amazing especially the small web feature. My only question would be is it just piggybacking off of Google's crawl network, which would put it under Google's imposed limitations on said network, and then it's filtering based on that? Or have they found a way to go around Google completely and access the pure web (I'm probably not using the proper terms for what I'm saying, apologies)
Doesn't look like they use Google's results. They have their own search indexes. More info here: https://help.kagi.com/kagi/search-details/search-sources.html
Just from personal use, I haven't noticed any obvious censorship of results.
Thank you fren, I'm going to give this a shot Lord willing. I'm still reeling from Bidenomics but soon hope to be afloat again!
...on that note... Is there a "best" search engine today, most untainted?
self hosted searxng instance while actively deranking sites you dont want to see.
theres also public instances (no deranking on public instance): https://searx.garudalinux.org/
Thank you fren!
