Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way

Posted this on late yesterday evening general chat, reposting to get a few more eyes on it. Recently had two family members with different medical issues. One with high blood pressure that won't seem to go down even with a good diet and prescribed medication. Doctor's solution was to double the medication. Not really working. The other family member has Parkinson disease. Both are non vaxxed and based. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Of course I understand all replies "are not medical advice." Thanks in advance.
Question 1: is one of the “blood pressure medicines a statin? If not, then no need to consider how to deal with side effects of statins.
Question 2: does the “good diet” mean no salt or low salt? Celtic and / or ancient seabed salts (Himalayas and Andes mountains) with trace minerals are important. Without them inbalances can occur then the body can produce too much “aldosterone” hormone causing kidneys to retain sodium leading to high bp.
Video Barbara O’Neill on Celtic salts and bp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgY126QX_w0
Question 3: how are the kidneys? If kidney function is low, then there’s nutrients for healing there too.
Are there certain days when blood pressure is higher, and certain sleepless nights such as when there are solar storms? L-carnosine peptide strengthens my heart, Bestvite brand, and you can share that with your doctor. Some say that L-Carnosine is an inefficient way for the body to utilize beta alanine and histidine, but it works fine.
Another question, how is the nitric oxide levels? The endothelial layers of blood levels can be repaired. The only product a cardiologist showed me that works is Endocalyx Pro. https://endocalyxpro.com/
How are the teeth, if no cavities, great! Nitric oxide gets produced when there’s good bacteria /probiotics in the saliva and gums. Chewable oral probiotics work! like Solaray brand, but it is expensive. Swanson and a few other places have good oral probiotics too.
I hope the best for your family members.
Thank you for you detailed questions and response. I'm not sure of the answers, but will certainly discuss this information with my family member.
Welcome! For your family member with Parkinsons, check if there has been in the past exposure to chemicals. Here is Cellcore scientists of Idaho writeup on nutrient mixes for chem detox, nutrients used in the past like Zeolites (rated 9 out of 10 for effectiveness) and then their own new mix of nutrients is here. https://cellcore.com/blogs/articles/9-old-school-toxin-binders-plus-meet-a-better-binder ____ Touchstone has both Zeolites and Fulvic plant mix similar to Cellcore. Cellcore seems to be all-in-one. https://thegoodinside.com/
If the doc thinks no detox is necessary, then there’s some neat research and products the doc can review.
A) Dr. Axe’s nutrition ideas including green tea to boost dopamine (make sure kidneys are healthy when drinking green tea) https://draxe.com/health/parkinsons-disease-natural-treatment-remedies/
B) Infrared saunas and FAR red light and near inrared light therapy.
AI Overview Learn more Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation (PBM), is a potential treatment option for Parkinson's disease, with early studies showing promising results in alleviating symptoms like motor function, cognition, and mobility by stimulating cells in the brain and potentially reducing inflammation, though larger scale clinical trials are needed to confirm its effectiveness and safety. Key points about red light therapy for Parkinson's:
Mechanism: Red light therapy aims to improve mitochondrial function within cells by delivering low-power red or near-infrared light to the brain, potentially enhancing energy production and nerve cell health.
Potential benefits: Studies suggest red light therapy may help with symptoms like tremors, gait difficulties, muscle stiffness, cognitive decline, and even improve quality of life for Parkinson's patients
C) Bioastin (Hawaii) brand Astaxanthin —this brand is so good compared to others it helps me get more sunlight in the summer without getting sunburned, and I am lighter-colored skin. Doctor can review the brand here with testimonials https://www.nutrex-hawaii.com/products/bioastin-hawaiian-astaxanthin-12mg-75ct
AI Overview Learn more Astaxanthin, a carotenoid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, may help with brain health in several ways: Cognitive function Astaxanthin may improve episodic memory, response time, and working memory in humans. In animal studies, astaxanthin may help maintain cognitive function in the elderly. Neurological disorders Astaxanthin may help protect against neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and traumatic brain injury. It may also help with cognitive impairment and neuropathic pain.
Neurogenesis Astaxanthin may promote adult neurogenesis by enhancing cell proliferation and stem cell potency. It may also help preserve the activity of neurogenic niches during aging.
Brain aging Astaxanthin may alleviate pathological brain aging by upregulating hippocampal synaptic proteins. Brain cell regeneration Astaxanthin pre-treatment may promote nerve cell regeneration by increasing the expression of genes involved in brain recovery
D) Review gut health microbiome — affects brain health — this neuroscientist talks about repairing it without needing probiotics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ1UmNBlGp0 — this video might be “not direct to the point” — Dr. Scott Sherr, M.D.
(my note, if your family doc likes this, “Pharma GABA” is a version of GABA is natural versus synthetic GABA and places like Vitamin Shoppe carry the natural https://www.vitaminshoppe.com/p/stress-relax-pharmagaba-100-mg-60-capsules/f3-1160)
best wishes and prayers
Wow! Thank you so much for this information. I will be seeing this family member tomorrow so this is perfect timing! I just printed a copy for them and myself to review with them. Thank you again for all your help.
You need to get the artery cleanse from u/JohnTitor17. He will send it to you. It's L-Lysine and Vitamin C which both can be bought over the counter. A lot of High Blood Pressure is caused from arteries being blocked. I too have high blood pressure and my doctor had to change my medicine 3 times before finding one that really worked. In the meantime, PM JT17 and he will give you the cleanse I am sure. Not saying he still won't have high blood pressure, but his arteries will be cleaned out and functioning top notch.
Mary, as always you are kind and considerate. Thank you for your response and suggesting the JohnTitor17 protocol.
You're welcome. I thought perhaps if nothing else worked medically, then this should most likely open the arteries to help lower the blood pressure. And there's always prayer. Never forget the power of prayer.

Thank you for your suggestion and the link. I'll watch this and then share it with my family.
I've always wondered if high blood pressure has to do with psychology. If you're a super anxious person/high strung, isn't it most likely you'll have high blood pressure? Just a thought. I never checked but when I do check my blood pressure is always normal, but I knew that already because I feel the peace of God and calm in my heart. My friend and coworker both, their blood pressure is too high everytime before they go see doctors for annual check-up because they get so nervous (in case they find some disease/cancer in them). I think there is definitely a correlation there.
My BP or heart rate gets up during stressful times especially when I’m rushing in traffic and think I’m Dale Earnhardt Sr (race car driver). Then at dr office my BP is high. However I don’t feel bad. Years ago when BP was very high at times I felt very bad. It would make you very tired and feel like you are going to pass out & that was on medication. Once I had panic attacks a few times and really thought it was my heart. Scared me so bad I called my mil who was a nurse. I was seriously thinking about going to the ER. Thankfully I don’t have problems with either anymore. It can put the fear of God in you really quickly.
I do see that my family member seems to be tired all the time, even with the medications. I don't think there have been any panic attacks but I'll check this out. Glad to hear you are doing better.
Hey, I’m still researching and also have been busy lately. For the Parkinson’s, if I had something that serious or cancer I’d see a naturopathic doctor. They are very expensive! However I don’t trust mainstream doctors or hospitals because they don’t attempt to cure. Even if the cancer leaves you have a lifetime of “preventive” meds that don’t always work and horrible side effects. I’m not bashing all doctors. They saved my life almost two years ago. I still see doctors but use caution. To start researching symptoms of Parkinson’s. Then research herbs, supplements, cbd, minerals that might help the symptoms. I find good info on YouTube. You have to weed out the crazy ones. Once you/they decide what herbs to try ask me or others what’s the better resource. I usually buy herbal tinctures from small businesses that forage the herbs and make them. Essential oils are great for many conditions (aromatherapy). Some brands are basically watered down, always check out the company. Another note even some doctor/natural medicine give gov sourced info pushing gov acceptable diet, grains, certain greens; I just don’t trust that. We each have to make our own decisions. Thanks, on the feeling better note. I really think it’s simply giving body time to heal, weight loss and especially diet.
I believe in some cases this could be true, but I highly doubt it in this case. Normally very healthy physically, mentally, and spiritually. Just wasn't feeling good for a while and went to have it checked out. Was surprised by the high blood pressure but it's been pretty consistently high for about a month or two now. Thanks for your thoughful response.
