my thoughts exactly. there was never any push to upgrade the infrastructure, because why would they ever do that. it would slow down and expose their double dealing.
It's not flawed. Working exactly as intended so THERE IS NO ACCOUNTABILITY.
We can track the money, but we just need to do it from the other end. Audit the well known blatant criminals and let them PROVE where their riches came from. It's only a matter of time before we get the trail.
They destroy the lives of starving Families over peanuts. I hope DOGE latches onto their asses and does not relent until they are broke, swinging, or serving life.
I think Elon is starting to find out what a huge and complicated job he has taken on… it’s not like taking over a business where the company has an accounting department that generally is able to come up with the numbers showing assets, expenses, profit and loss, etc. it’s like taking over multiple disjointed groups, all using different systems and no clear cut answers to where the money is coming from and going to. I think he’s starting to see overwhelming levels of corruption, mis management, ineptitude, etc that is our government. Can’t wait until he takes a laser to cut through the piles of crap. God bless him and all of Trumps team.
Yeah great point. When they cannot account for something like 2 billion let's say. That's a lot of damn money that could have disappeared from a lot of places.
The Federal government computers & software are in such bad shape that they often cannot verify that payments are not fraud, waste or abuse!
That’s why the government can’t pass basic audits. They often LITERALLY don’t know where your tax dollars went. It’s insane.
My preferred title in the new administration is Volunteer IT Consultant. Need to fix the IT infrastructure in order to make government work. This is a grind & hardly glorious, but we can’t make government efficient & fix the deficit if the computers don’t work.
Love it. Fixing the infrastructure will start forcing them to be held accountable, and done properly (which seems like it will be) will set a secure foundation for transparency. As it should have always been.
This is unsurprising for soooo many reasons. My expectation is a lot of the corruption going on was facilitated by the fact the systems in place are all unable to talk to each other at all to keep track of the money.
The fixing of that problem however is a "douse in gas and set it on fire, then build over the ashes" job. I've seen legacy systems like that, and trying to keep them on life support costs more than scrapping the work and rebuilding a better solution that works across the board.
It’s a feature, not a bug. Can’t embezzle funds if they are properly tracked.

Laser is way too precise, we need an excavator for this pile of bullshit
Or fire.

Surely after closing over 350 federal agencies we can afford the best computers for the government!
I tend to agree.
Some of the software is not even. It's just spreadsheets.
too much money spent on pronoun updates
Sauce...

This is such BS
They're going to have to put them on a private blockchain at some point.
