I wouldn't even try to go, there will be too many idiots on both sides trying to outshout the other. Stay at home and watch on television, save your family the aggrevation of having to find a toilet, find somewhere to eat, and find somewhere to park you vehicle. I understand your patriotism and sense of wanting to see something special, but don't forget the Deep State is still out there and he don't care about hurting the little guy to take out the big guy.
Call your Congressman to see if you can secure invitations. Are you staying in DC or MD? Note of caution: Do NOT bring a gun into DC. You will likely get busted and the consequences are severe for law-abiding 2A folks. Same goes for MD, but you at least won't be on Federal property half the time walking around.
It will be a great event! If you can’t get close enough, there probably will be some of those Jumbotrons to watch. The park service usually has several porta potty’s in various locations, be sure to dress warmly and bring hand warmers. There usually have lots of food trucks on the surrounding roads. Stay away from troublemakers, just avoid them and you will be fine. I’m sure more than 99% of the people will be pro Trump, so the few that aren’t will be kept at bay by the huge crowd. Have Fun!
You can get on the mall without tickets. The tickets are for the seats on the west side of the Capitol. Parade can be seen on most of the route. Tickets needed for bleachers only. Is your airnib close to subway. Some of the suburban locations have big parking lots. If you go into town to park, try union Station. Subway available. Parking can get really pricy in business districts. If you are young enough to deal with the walking go for it. Should be memorable and your kids will have an historic memory. I still remember watching Eisenhower's inaugeration on a small black and white TV in my grade school gymnasium. I was in the 1st grade.
It's really cool. Went in 2016 and was very close. But it is an all day deal, we got out there at like 5am to get close enough. Will be there again this year

My spidey sense says don't book anything until after Dec 30th.
Al Sharpton also has organized a MLK event in DC on 01/20 /25. So there could be some planned “disruption.”

Go, it will be the experience of a lifetime.
