The covid op did a lot of the same, driving small family owned businesses under and many being bought out by or otherwise propping up large entities. A definite pattern of consolidation that leads to easier control of all aspects of our lives.
It’s money. The farm land here is being gobbled up for home lots. The land is worth about 4 times as much, and farmers are taking the payments instead of the 3 times prior prices inflation we are encountering as working farmers.
Only those who can afford to live without it and have a love for the land can stay in it.

We can fight it by repealing any immunity laws and by passing a law saying only US citizens can own land.
A whole lot of other countries have this same law, it is time the US had it, too.
That laws giving corporate farms protection from being sued were passed lets everyone know how much corruption existed/exists in the NC legislature.
Smithfield farms was one of the great USA losses from the kenyan era, along with ICANN. That traitor sold out the country so hard.
