To most of us, that would be a welcome relief (it might be more than half). We can figure out, later how to replace them-as they are all scared about a government shutdown, how about if they are arrested and can't do their jobs? It is probably statutory in each state and county. It (or should be) laid out in each electoral jurisdiction’s laws whether the executive branch fills the vacancy or a special election should be held. Similarly, executive vacancies are governed by statute.
