I think its slightly admirable they want to treat the ones that haven't offended. While I may not think they can be, perhaps OP's heart is in the right place? Fix them before they hurt people? Even if the rest of us know they can't be.
Maybe a real good parasite cleans. Some gay people are being surprised by their interest in the other sex. Some parasites can direct their host to follow behaviors that infect others. If they have resisted the bad cravings maybe those can be saved, but not those that did act.
