If you're like me, everytime you think of Rubio you think of Trump slinging the water bottle while yelling "Rubio! Rubio!" and laugh a little.
I also laugh at Rubio bot shutting down and repeating lines over and over again.
He was just an embarrassment.
But now? With his work in central America, with his ability to carry out Trump's will with "economically hostile" nations, and with him taking over USAID, I'm very impressed with him. He speaks articulate, rapid fires answers, stands his ground against the media, and seems very competent.
At first I was very disappointed this pick wasn't someone like Erik Prince. But now, I can kind understand Trump's pick.
What are your thoughts on him?
He's off to a good start, but can he follow through for the next 4 years? Time will tell, but so far, I am pleased with his actions.
I only watched half his presser today, but he didn't mention 47 once, maybe he did later on? To be truly in the fold he needs to clearly refer to the President and his agenda, else he looks unattractively ambitious and seems to see himself as more than he is. He needs to remember how he got to where he is today. There is a fine line between sycophantically fawning over a leader and paying proper due homage. Rubio is too cool. Paying tribute to the president is important for optics abroad and also to overtly maintain the chain of command clearly to people. Everyone benefits and all the men look more masculine for it. Just my opinion.
I've heard Rubio mention "President Trump" and "the President's Agenda" and so on, and all in a good and positive way. I'm pretty sure he's OK for now. No doubt he has ambitions of his own, but who among them or us does not?
You over analyze just like I do sometimes.
Exactly. He could have accomplished so much more if he'd just eliminate ambition, ego, pride, or being a closeted gay. If he's loyal to Trump and is not corrupted then I think he'll ace it.
I think his ability to speak fluent Spanish helps a lot. He can negotiate in Central and South America. He does have political ambitions, and I think he realized that following Trump's agenda will help him out a lot.
I’m pretty sure that the Q people vetted pretty much everyone in lead positions many years ago. That’s why we had the suck ass team the first time around, they wouldn’t be able to perform at the level we’re seeing now.
Agreed. There's no chance Trump gets elected a second (or even first term) without Q/God, and this time around, they seem to have everything in place.
Best proof is the weirdly smooth election and transition.
while I like his shift towards maga and trump I can’t help but sense that it’s more of a matter of political survival rather than a true change of heart
jury is still out
Panama quickly dumped China for US. Marco Rubio's fingerprints are on those negotiations. Trump is looking like a Genius putting Rubio as Secretary of State.
We as a Nation have just entered another 4 year Marathon. The Panama thing was big. Very hot start hopefully not a flash. Hopefully a sign of many more great things to come.
Cautiously optimistic.
I do think that with all we have going on with deportations to mostly Spanish-speaking countries, our efforts to get the Panama Canal back under firm control, and working with Important "new" politicians like Nayib Bukele and Javier Milei, as well as bad people like Maduro, speaking fluent Spanish is a HUGE bonus.
You can't lose things in translation as easily and I think it also provides a level of comfort to all of these people that we need to work with for them to be able to speak their native tongue and not have to think about how to say things in English or wait for interpretations.
Look how relaxed this conversation and greeting is between Rubio and Bekele.
Rubio is someone we tend to make fun of because he's always sweating, small or short and have this look like "you guys keep making fun of me". But there must be more than meets the eye, like he's actually a very capable person if following a good leader and when directed well I think he can do some excellent work. He needs to be loyal to DJT and get his ego in check and not be corrupted, then he's good to go.
Any contention between him and Trump will sink ANY future Presidential aspirations. He will do as he's told.
He's cooperating for now. Don't turn your back to him though.
I think he's been a team player for a while. I'm pretty sure Trump asked him to stay on as a senator for all these years. Remember Trump almost ended Rubios career in his 1st Campagin. I'm pretty sure Trump and Rubio made ammendmends over the years and with the Mandate of 2024 everyone's fallen inline
Rubio was competition, but that alone doesn't make him a bad guy. Trump would have vetted him thoroughly.
Isn’t he Bubble Boy from the photo at the gay party? This photo was making the rounds several years ago.
I suspect that many people had a Come to Jesus moment and made a deal. I do not trust Rubio, but he can redeem himself like others are doing,
He is not Stupid, he, and some other Republicans are smart enough to realize that MAGA is the Republican party now. Implementing Trumps Agenda and doing what Trump wants is the best way to become PRESIDENT in 2028.
strings will be cut and those who are, will do as told, is my take on Rubio.
He’s doing great. Holding his own.
Rubio was boys with Lindsey and No name, they were involved with early Isis. Pretty sure there are posts with pictures of them and the Isis dickheads. In my eye that makes him a POS. We will see if he can be useful to the America First Mandate.
Best thing about Rubio -- he's a weaselly little POS devoid of a spine, but he doesn't need one. He has Trump telling him exactly what to do. AND HE WILL DO IT, because he's a good little boy.
