Dogs are omnivores and they do eat vegetables, not strict carnivores. They can get nutrition from both plants and meat, but they don't easily digest high volumes of fiber and plant matter. Dog diets are mostly protein, but can include beans, peas, pumpkin, spinach, apples, pears, broccoli, carrots, corn, rice and plenty of other vegetables we like to eat. I had a dog who loved to eat green olives with pamintoes. Most dogs love cooked green beans. You can't overdo it, but these are nice treats or can be added into dog food.
If the protein content is enough grams, they can have minimal vegetable. Do not replace daily required animal proteins and fats with plants. In 30 years of pet rescue sanctuary, I have learned this.
As a pet sitter… Many of our clients feed their dogs cook cooked sweet potatoes. They love them. My one client has cooked chicken breast and sweet potatoes for their dog every meal. But she is pretty special. Little Miloe 🥰 other clients that we have used farmers dog, (fresh meat and vegetables) and green beans and sweet potato as well.
Dogs and cats don't eat plants. Maybe that's related.
The worst offender besides Wild Earth is that Purina has veggies in their pet food.
Actually, Purina uses GMO in their pet food. I would never feed my pets Purina.
Which kind do you prefer to buy?
I feed them brown rice, vegetables and meat. A range of meat: chicken, turkey, beef, sometimes salmon.
That explains why my cats won't eat Purina.

Cats are carnivores.
Very true, and adding carrots to pet food is a natural vermicide.
