In my lifetime, I had to work side by side with a former Soviet ex-military guy. We got along very well, despite my family history.
With what I've learned in the past few years, I'm pretty sure it was actually the Bolsheviks, the Russian version of Antifa, that was to blame for my ancestors having to leave.
There's a certain perspective you get in life once you've been in it a while. Russians? British? Americans? Aussies? Canadians? Just like any other civilization apparently. A lot of good people for the most part that have to deal with some genuine @$$holes that got mixed in. And here we are doing cleanup on aisle 17.
The real trick is being able to suss out and name the genuine a-holes so we can learn from the history. The Bolsheviks had a distinct identity. They came from a distinct community. They were insular regarding who they promoted to positions of power.
There are patterns here that go back centuries.
The people who have the arrogance to think they're better than everyone else and deserve the right to control you and run your life to their benefit are the problem. That seems to be what we're watching DOGE fight right now in our own government: that same mentality.
I'll give you all a heads up. I'm pretty sure Melania's family has some history with the Cabal, and there's a reason her inauguration outfit resembled "V for Vendetta". Yup, the movie will be getting BETTER.

Honestly, were the Bolsheviks (Red Army) any worse than the White Army? Calling them the Russian version of Antifa would imply they were attacking and terrorizing innocent civilians. From what I learned about that period of Russian history, the White Alliance they were fighting wasn't much better.
