AI is getting better. It's basically fit-for-purpose to fool all people 50%+ of the time, and probably 90%+ of all people some of the time.
Scary. But also inevitable.
Right? What’s going to be able to count for evidence in the future?
Heck, for that matter what have we been allowing to count for evidence of things?
At this point no video, audio, or photographic evidence can be considered to be true.
We have ways of getting under the hood and looking for signs that an asset was altered. But it's always possible that an alteration will not be noticed.
What I mean is.. the video showing Trump’s 20/20 interview, no AI/CGI required, totally invalid evidence.
Or false flags, for example. Known faked evidence, yet they got away with it.
We need better discernment toward the foundations of our opinions.

Someone rewrote “the end of our democracy” to be “the end of our bureaucracy” using AI.
I simply find the AI version to be the more truthful intention behind what they’re saying, because it is.
