Or... US could direct positive energy towards health and fitness (no more Admiral Noodles as the figurehead) and start a psyop towards that end. Look how Rap was introduced and guided toward thug/drug culture by one of our 3 letter agencies in order to hijack an entire generation in order to control and weaken them. We now have a 70 something, super-fit head of HHS who could coordinate with other agencies (including Education and the other psyop one) to make this a positive goal for the youth. Honey wins over vinegar.
We need simple clean facts around drugs that match what people can see out on the streets. A simple ad campaign like the Jared Subway one. Obviously talking about the initial weight loss story that was a boost for Subways sales.
Simple true stories of people getting clean should be the focus. No BS, no hype.
As far as I was aware. Part of DAREs problem. Stemmed from it being incompetently run. And the fact the content was primarily produced and decided on by people who largely didn’t have any idea what they were talking about beyond a surface level understanding.
Not to mention the fact the primary people conveying it were Police. And in the areas where Drugs were and are a major problem. Police aren’t necessarily well liked or well received.
Normally because in poorer areas they often had bad news. Which was Either Mom, Dad, or another member of the family is dead, or being hauled off to Jail again.
Or in the case of wealthier areas. They were there to rain on Teenagers fun. Crash parties. Pull you over etc.
Not a good idea and I'm speaking as a teacher of 47 years who raised two boys. One was addicted to drugs. When you tell a child not to do something it makes him or her more eager to try it. Drug education must come from the home. People who live in a pure atmosphere of love and discipline are more likely to grow up that way. BTW I would love Vance's opinion on this
Kids like to do things because they are told they are dangerous; it's "cool" to do it. What I think would work in stopping kids from starting cigarettes is to show how stupid it actually is (putting a burning stick in your mouth and inhaling the smoke; how much more stupid can you get? If one is cool, why not two? Or perhaps having one in each ear :) )
If you ask google about the "just say no" drug program from the 80s "war on drugs," they tell you it was a failure. But that phrase sticks in my brain to this day. I used it plenty during the covid years ... the vaccine was an experimental drug, no different than the shit for sale on the street (well maybe worse than the shit on the street). And I said NO.
In the 90's it became "just say N.O." (nitrous oxide, lol).
I think drying up the drug supply is step 1, then the war on drugs really just becomes trying to cure the addictions (not that addiction can be cured, but at least managed in some cases).

Speaking as an ex-addict and anti-prohibitionist, I have serious concerns, and I hope this admin learns from previous admin's mistakes:

So, where's the sauce that Trump actually said this?
Speaking of destroying your Teeth. Also ban sugar drinks like Coke and Pepsi from all Schools and Cafeterias..
DARE was never trying to accomplish their goals and was just used to launder money.
I’m sure he’ll ensure whoever runs it has innovative programs. He’s not one to waste money.
If Elon runs it, it won't just be effective and efficient. It will probably have self driving cars and self landing rockets too
Downdoot all you want. If Elon ran it, it would work

I thought MT did an aggressive anti-meth thing like this and it had pretty good results. Or was that SD?
How about we as a culture just change minds and perceptions at the family level.
How about regulating EMFs? Oh communications is now bigger than pharma so a no there.
What about all the shit in our food? At least we can choose whether we do a line. The other is foisted upon us so it's more nefarious.
DARE did exactly what it was founded to do: get kids to snitch on their parents and spread false propaganda.
This time, though? This is what DARE pretended to be, in actuality.

If government had launched a massive campaign on reasons not to get the jab, who knows, I might've gotten it.
