More than anything else, I want peace. I would love it if the US left NATO and formed an alliance with Russia. That would stop the war mongers in the world in their tracks.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was created in 1949 to protect the security and freedom of its members, especially from the Soviet Union. NATO is a military alliance between countries in Europe and North America.
There is NO MORE Soviet Union, hence, NATO needs to be disassembled.
Russia is still aligned with China right now though. If we got them to drop that then it would be a game changer. Russia doesn't matter nearly as much as China.
The real question is what is a more relevant alliance, US and Russia...or BRICS (- Russia) and Europe. Russia doesn't have a lot of sway in BRICS economically. Just militarily.
Just paying attention to the Panama Canal and Greenland, that doesn't seem to be the strategy for either China or the US at this point. The US and China are direct competitors in a zero sum game.
Remember, China wants a BRICS currency solely to break down the US dollar in terms of world trade. Trump is tariffing the crap out of them for a reason.
Edit: I don't disagree with you long-term, but short-term Russia is just a pawn in a game between China and the US. Neither China or the US can land boots anywhere in a European conflict without raising these tensions, and that's why North Korea was tapped for support and not China. WWIII will be economic.

There is still a soviet union, it's now called the european union.
But that 2.0 version is a bad copy of the original.
That would shut down BRICS and the 2 top militaries can shut down conflicts everywhere.
