I have a feeling that with the elimination of fraud, both in funding/donations to the election itself, the election cycles may become a little bit more barnacle. They need to outlaw the mud slinging, especially on tv.

The funny thing is that it's not that absurd. Look at how thin the Democrat bench is?
Newsome was there waiting in the wings, waiting to eventually run after his profile was high enough. But after the L.A. fires, he's seriously damaged.
There are very, very few viable candidates within the Democrat ranks. Nearly every Democrat with enough visibility to run for the Presidency is either:
-Extremely old -Has very public examples of dangerous incompetence -An extremist
Walz came through this VP run largely unscathed. His incompetence and left wing extremism on display as the governor of Minnesota went mostly unnoticed by the public.
Again, don't get me wrong. Walz running for President is laughable, but the Dems might not have a whole lot of other choices.

And I would definitely put Whitmer on that short, pathetic list. She's been a governor, has nearly complete approval from the Dem base in Michigan and the FBI / kidnapping scandal doesn't seem to have stuck to her, at least not yet.
Though she is white and as far as I know she's straight, both of which are which is a no nos these days for the Democrats. But I gotta believe she'd have a shot at the nomination given how pathetic their bench is.
