Is this also a state issue or can Trump not use the federal government to drop some water here? How is it 2025 and we can't quickly deal with these fires? This is ridiculous

That's the only one left. The rest have all been contained and/or extinguished.
This is good news.

Anything on the origin of these fires?
Don't know fren. I suspect fuckery afoot. Myrtle Beach is designated to be another 'smart city'
Rain should arrive tonight.
The response to these fires have been amazing. I’m sure if Biden were still in office, there would be many lives and homes lost. Aside from minor damage, not one home was engulfed and there have been no injuries. I largely contribute that to that fast response. There was immediately two AT-802 Fire Bosses deployed, then two UH-60 Black Hawks, and finally a CH-47 Chinook joined. These fires were in the literal back yards of numerous housing developments and miraculously stayed in the forest without any serious damage. The firefighters and air support have been outstanding, but I do strongly believe that they also had help from God, as this fire should’ve been far worse.
That's good to hear. All I knew was what the Twitter clickbaiters were reporting and it seemed dire. Thank you!
Born and raised local of Myrtle Beach. I live close to the beach, we did have ash fall a few nights ago, however I've got plenty of friends in the area of the fire. They could see the blaze but still were not ordered to evacuate, our fire departments can and will handle it. My oldest attends a charter school in Conway so im driving through the smoke to get him there. Everything is fine here, we're good to go.
Rain tonight will end it.
Not trivializing the damage, but 2000 acres is not that much depending where it is. The smoke inhillation is much more dangerous to people as that is spread over a larger area and doesn't have to actively be burning you to hurt you. 2000 acre is only ~3 square miles. It's big sounding, but not really that big unless it is in town, then it's more about property damage and life safety.
Burning down the house. Everybody sing...
