Someone here recommended red light treatment. It worked. It even eliminated pain during treatment and there was nothing, including pills, that worked before. When that ach starts in my leg, I use it. Works.
I used to get sciatic pain quite often. I related it to a thick wallet in my back pocket while sitting or driving. I quit carrying my wallet in back pocket. Then on long trips (truck pulling 5th wheel) it would still happen. I read that sitting upright while driving with good lumbar support is helpful. Works well for me. I sit very upright when driving any significant distance and try to maintain good upright posture.
Fun post! I happen to be wearing my NCSWIC today :-) Hope the sciatica goes away soon. Both my folks had that but cleared up eventually. Yours will too.
damn it i hate hearing that. my back is shot and i just got spinal surgery about 6 months ago. i wish i had better to say, I got off the pain pills. they turned me into a zombie but I also know that that kind of pain is not one that's easy to deal with. God bless you and the wife and I are praying for you anon. You take care of yourself and just be careful. -maybe let others do the heavy lifting for a bit and try to get better. I give advice way better than I take it .. and I paid for it. just ask the wife. - sleep well 🙏🏻🍻
but indeed... just had c4,c5,c6 fused and now they're looking at my lower lumbar. My power lifting days are done. Kind of a catch 22'. It's what saved me so far as my size but what it took to get there?...that's what did more than a bit of the damage. Either way, I told em' I was too damn old and sick of being magnetized and stuffed into tubes that I cannot fit into. Freaked me out the last time and I said don't you have music or anything, something that will help??? Dude asked me what I needed and I told him "well you're not gonna have it son but .... any Pantera, Ministry or possibly Motorhead?" Guy responded to the other nurse and said "go pull up my bad ass 80's head banger power metal playlist please." I shit you not. -and he delivered. seriously surprised me and made a 45 minute scan go by in a blink. Literally woke up to Megadeth's symphony of destruction playing. I just had to try and remember my spinal cord at the time was being crushed and not to try to move - hard to do when feeling like the bionic man and no pain from only God knows how much dilauded.
ps. and whoever the fkstick was that was my 1st doc' that told me the ablation would work- well, he's fkin' liar and I'd shove that entire mri machine up his ass sideways and turn it on after making him swallow a bucket of 8 penny nails. nothing extreme, i just wanted him to know the frustration and inconvenience of it all. puke inducing little vermin didn't even speak a damn bit of english. really pissed me off. sorry- my emotions got the best of me there. may have to make drink and listen to air supply's greatest hits just to get out of that head space. -cheers 🍻
You got an updoot from me for the story. It was enjoyable to read, especially the eight penny pail of nails!. Hope you can get your back problems figured out and have no more issues with it. Good luck, fren.
many thanks Tynyyn, much appreciated. yeah that whole nail thing, well.. i mean you can only take so much pain and then people telling you "this time" - and it being wrong. I'm still kicking though. It ever gets me into wheelchair status I'd put a 383 stroker motor with a blower and open headers on it just to piss off my neighbors who insist on letting me know how sorry they are for me as they jog off in their $200 nike outfits. -I'm not jaded though. totally handling all this with an abundance of hope. -and vodka. cheers friend, and thanks again. I sure appreciate it. 🍻
Have you tried laying on your back and pulling your legs over your head? I had some sciatica about a month ago and my wife told me to do that stretching exercise. I rolled my eyes and thought "yea, I bet", but I did do the exercise. It seemed to help. I don't know if your back surgeries allow you that kind of motion, but maybe try to do deep knee bends also. Who knows, it might stretch out those muscles and ease some of the tighness with the nerves.
Tynyyn, I sure appreciate you sayin' what you have. My back in all honesty won't allow me any kind of movement like those. I've got to be awful careful now. It's the damnedest thing not being able to do what I once could and want to today. Highly irritating. I never was one for doctors or hospitals and over the last several years its been as if they were second homes to me. That- I do not like. I use to post here under another name and had a bit of cred built up. Maybe when I am able to post certain things again, with mod approval I'll upload the latest scan of my spine - post surgery. I honestly wish I hadn't looked at it. Sure do appreciate the kind words and help from you. Much appreciated friend. I'm still tryin' though,..and eventually may get back somewhere to what I once was.. maybe. Many thanks, cheers! 🍻
Mom, 89, has had 2 spinal fusions, in '66 and again in '86. I got her skeleton in some aspects.
It'll take me being only able to crawl to succumb to tbe knife.
Try some ivermectin
I do it on a regular regimen. It's not a viral/bacterial/chemically -related problem. Structural 1° culprit.
