EPA Launches Biggest Deregulatory Action in U.S. History: Zeldin Rolls Out 31 Groundbreaking Actions to Save Americans TRILLIONS...
In a historic move, the EPA unveils 31 significant deregulatory actions aimed at revitalizing the American economy, reducing living costs, and enhancing job growth, reshaping the landscape of environmental governance.
I hope one of them will give us back appliances that last more than a couple of years.
Make Appliances Great Again (or at least good).
We bought a Viking gas stove with NO digital bullshit. All mechanical. It great but it was like 3K.
IMO, failing appliances is not as much about regulations as it is corporate greed.
I'm sure you've noticed that most appliances only last 3 to 5 years and have a warranty that lasts as long. The day after the warranty ends, the appliance breaks and the cost to fix is higher than the cost to replace. So people go out and buy new appliances and throw the old ones away.
The term is "Designed Failed Obsolescence," and it really isn't a secret anymore. Corporations and China (it's almost all made in China now), have really fine tuned the technique down to days.
I bet my grandpa's refrigerator worked for 40 years. Those days are long gone.
We had a Whirlpool fridge fail and called a guy to fix it. He pulled out a huge relay that's used in elevators and installed it in place of the failed tiny one, butt-crack and all. That was 25 or 30 years ago. The fridge is still soldiering on.

Reading that, I couldn't help but(t) think of this:

š
BTW, Whirpools used to be great, not sure if they still are. A lot of Kenmore stuff used to be made by them.
We have a second fridge in the house - it's from before 2005. The gaskets are starting to wear out .... That's about it
Appliancedepot.com. You likely can find replacement parts.
Thank you š
My KitchenAid fridge has been running for a few months shy of 30 years. It's a self-defrost, but every once in a while I have to use a hair dryer to melt ice off the coils in the freezer.
I'm also bad about vacuuming the coils under it, (in fact, I need to do it again yesterday š) but it's still humming away. I rue the day it dies!
Sorry Fren, regulation cancel can't compete with corporate greed.
I would like to know which one makes mini-splits great again? My basement is cold in the winter and hot in the summer. They were not available because the regs cost them too much to build.
I'm also looking forward to a dishwasher that doesn't take nearly 3 hours to wash a load!
Let us delete our diesels like the Feds do! Not that mine isn't deleted because fuck them, but still. Fuck them.
Mines deleted because the emissions systems are inefficient, unreliable, and stupid expensive to replace and repair. Iām not opposed to reducing emissions but damn, somebody has to come up with a much better design before they make it a regulation and start handing out fines
Most certainly. The first part to fail after I bought my truck was an emissions part. So I fixed it. Forever.
Do you have emission testing before you can renew your registration for plates? If so, how does that go for you?
I do not. They're supposed to do a visual at the yearly inspection I believe, but the guys I go to have poor vision.
Lucky you, just a visual! I take it what you did isn't too visible.
Do they have 'poor vision' for free? š
Anyway, God bless you and keep on truckin'! š
It's very visible if you look lol a bunch of stuff fell off. Their poor vision is free and much appreciated.
How doubly lucky you are. Wish it was like that in my state. We don't have to pay for them, (at least, out of pocket), anymore, but they're still there.
Good Job Lee, keep up the good work!
The EPA should have the following changes:
Our federal government has no delegated power to regulate these things. They are in violation of the Constitution, and infringe on the rights of the People. Power delegated to government is intended only to help, not hinder, interstate commerce.
leaded gasoline is actually not a good idea though, FYI

Eliminate the EPA and the greatest climate scam of them all: the CARBON scam!!!!
CO2 is indeed a greenhouse gas!!! That's why greenhouses add it to their evnvironmenrs. Plants thrive with higher concentrations of CO2.

Over here gnashing my teeth that this crap was going on in the first place. NEVER AGAIN PLEASE THANKS
Small engines are still banned in California.
This will make it alot harder for deep state to start "wildfires", which also cuts off one of the money streams to a cabal controlled state.
