Pretty sure he was telling the reporters that he had little X with him so he wasn't going to take questions. Elon and everyone else were trailing so far behind that POTUS was responsible for little X and his safety.
Regardless of why he made X...to me this supports that his hand gestures are purposeful. How many times have we been told the Q's he draws in the air are just random?

Sometimes it's a Q....today it was an X 😉
