So the article says it will be reduced over the next 5 years which is terrific BUT To make up for the funding cut, the gas tax will gradually increase 9 cents from the current rate of 18 cents per gallon. It will then will increase to 27 cents by July 2027. After that, it could be further raised to help fund state road work. I don’t like like the sound of this. Am I wrong?
And taxes poor people more who need to commute further. Though idk how many people need to commute that far in MS when the state is not that populated.

They really don't want to give up their revenue, so if they cut in one place, they'll have to find it in another.

It might be a loonnng drive to Walmart. Around me, people think nothing of driving two hours to get to shopping.
