Not surprising. The left winged idiots in power are systematically destroying the place with their unrealistic ideologies. Jay Dimslee (Inslee) and his "Climate Change" platform turned out to be an epic fail. Now we have Dimslees former AG (Bob Ferguson) who refused to prosecute and now our "annointed" governor who only platform is to continue the taxation agenda which is now driving out thriving businesses...and people...
Good for u friend thst u bought a house in one of the most beautiful states , hang in there it will get better once the demons are exposed and arrested or driven out . I’m in Cali so I understand , but I would love to live there ! I often thought of buying a home there.
I lived for two years in the Santa Barbara area of the south coast. A virtual heaven on Earth. The smell of eucalyptus trees triggers intense nostalgia. This was back in the 70s. There are big reasons why California is popular, but I even wonder if it is possible for the people who are there, to enjoy what they have.
Ok, I read the article and followed any links provided within. There isn't an exodus at all, there's just shuttering of businesses (theft, vandalism, inability to guarantee customer safety, etc). I didn't read about one single case of someone/anyone moving away from Washington (which in my mind would be an exodus). One of the links for Pete's Hardware (closing due to vandalism, theft, etc) linked to an article about the closure of Lincoln Hardware, being closed because all three owners (one sister and two brothers, none of which is named Pete) are simply retiring because they're old and SELLING the business (or at least the building).
I live here and I see it- many of my circle of friends has bailed and moved to TX, AZ, or states in the South. Small businesses are being closed 1 by 1- esp in Seattlebproper- theft is huge- even in the burbs shampoo and deodorant are locked up and shelves are only 60-70% full....
I have lived here since the 80s as a kid- it is a SHITHOLE and fucking retarded libs keep copying Cali's failures- if we had the resources to leave we would...
My entire family has left this God forsaken state.
I am a business owner and I moved in 2021. My business partner still there but I couldn't stand it any longer.
Other business owners associated with me (vendors and others) have moved, some to TN and some to TX.
You could not rent a UHaul within the state anywhere for months on end and if you need to rent one, you better drive to another state to pick one up. I call that an exodus. I was told to drive to MT to pick one up.
Atlas Shrugged!
I heard some of the NYers who lived around there blasted gospel music, which i would like to see.

What a name, Jay Dimslee. Great name for him.
Known by the cognomen, "Turd" Ferguson. For all the right reasons.
State propaganda there is very thick; I know some seattle-ites that soak in it daily, and it gets into their heads little by little.
Oh yes.
I'm stuck in this FUCKED-UP shit hole. As I bought my retirement place here. But at least I'm in the reddest county in this liberal shit hole.

This is the marketplace of ideas at work. Too bad liberals never learn....
That's true.
Took long enough
True.

The article is misleading. Why?
