One of the best sermons for our time. Continuing to be impressed by this writer's crystal clarity.
And this is the reason I was against digital books.
First there is losing the tactile experience that is part of loving to read. The feel of holding the pages. The smell of the new or old book. The spot where you cuddle up with a great book and get lost in the story, and if it's a great story, it lingers and opens doors in you mind. And you can flip through pages to the good parts.
But I also saw how very easy it would be to change the book. So very easy.
Well stated. I have argued with others that the feel and smell of a book is a large and important part of the reading experience. I refuse to read digital books.
The smell of a library. The biggest privilege I had as an LA on the Hill was getting a pass to the stacks in the Library of Congress. And I could check the books out. No late fees (grin)
They can delete and alter so much with digital. I was just thinking about people living mostly digital lives, and when they die, the "powers" can just flip a switch and remove all trace of their existence - that way the "powers" can prevent mankind's progress.
The only way to erase him is for believers to fear speaking about him. In acts they prayed for more boldness and got it. Everyday I make it my goal to share the gospel with someone. His name on believing lips will overcome anything they try. So keep speaking about Christ.
Also, be mindful of different versions of the Bible that water down or change outright God's Word. Tjere are more than a few.
One thing that absolutely cheesed me off to no end…
Was when I found out that I’d had more training on not taking bribes from liability/compliance training at work than I had ever gotten from any church. (Pardon the ESV)
Exodus 23:8 ESV - And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of those who are in the right.
Proverbs 15:27 ESV - Whoever is greedy for unjust gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will live.
Ecclesiastes 7:7 ESV - Surely oppression drives the wise into madness, and a bribe corrupts the heart.
Amos 5:12 ESV - For I know how many are your transgressions and how great are your sins— you who afflict the righteous, who take a bribe, and turn aside the needy in the gate.
Deuteronomy 16:19 ESV - You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous.
So then, oh church, how many of your flocks took an untested sorcery (“vaccine”) in exchange for a donut?
In this situation, what is the donut, effectively? Why does your flock not have the discernment to see that?
But even when the translations are just fine, the teachers have taught us that “we are free from being bound by the law”.
Great!!! So now there is NO REASON to teach not to take bribes, other than compliance with the laws of man.
Or… Jesus was betrayed for a bribe.
2 Timothy 3:1-4 ESV - But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God
Don’t need translation errors when it’s possible to just cherry pick a few scriptures to say 3/4 of the book, upon which the entire ministry of Jesus was founded, and by which Jesus was known, …doesn’t apply anymore.
I see everyone is no longer referring to BC/AD. They call it something else now. The rub is the department of education has erased BC/AD from education. They did so to erase God. Im afraid even my children have to use the modern terms. They don't even realize the salvation of man is getting erased by zoinist.
The funny thing is, these God-haters can shriek and make up their phony rules, but the TRUTH remains. And we know - that our timeline of HISTORY is split by the monumental appearance of God as man, 2000+ years ago. Christ entered the world and left the world in a cataclysmic event. We know. They can never delete that.

From the second I first saw "BCE", I knew that was what was going on. I will never use that nomenclature. God wins...
I used to hate that they changed from AD and BC to CE and BCE
Now I have rebranded them:
CE = Christian Era, and BCE = Before Christian Era
Done. Truth always wins.
Straight out of 1984 - change the language, remove the ability to express an idea.
Pray, fast and almsgiving. Pray for our enemies, as Jesus told us to do.

There are only two pieces of evidence for a Historical Jesus.
I'd say Jesus was "erased" long before the bc/ad , bce/ce debate.
I don't think Jesus was erased, I think Jesus is being hidden.
Would you care to elaborate?
Why is the number 33 associated with Jesus?
Why is IX a symbol of Jesus?
Why is Jesus referred to as King? When he was supposed to be a carpenter. If he claims to be a descendant of King David would he not be royalty?
What Pharaoh requested the Septuagint be written?
What is the 33rd Egyptian Dynasty?
What does Soter mean?
Just a theory...answer.

Well perhaps you can assist your kids?
