You would trade it in for a new vehicle and the Tesla would rot on the lot. Essentially, you would screw over the businesses where you trade it in. You trade in the Tesla for a Toyota, the Tesla rots on the lot and costs Toyota everyday it doesn’t sell.
Eventually the price would drop enough that somebody will accept the risk and buy it at the discounted price. Pus there's a chance that a new distraction will occur, taking their focus away from Tesla.
they are trying to make sales difficult so the market for them collapses? if it gets out that owners are trying to dump their cars, they may be harder to sell. If that becomes known, then less buying and selling means less growth to make the super rich richer. Im guessing off the top of my head at their motivation here, but it's probably something other than overlooking object permanency.

I'm torn between two scenarios here.
#1. The ratlines to fund these protests have been so dismantled by the Trump Admin that there's only enough money left to pay for half-protests.
#2. Most Leftists I've worked with over the years tend to have very poor work ethics. Entirely possible that they just clocked out early :)
