To me it looks like the two minutes of hate Orwell wrote about. Just nonsensical crap. We really should get a meme of their protests based on the 2 minutes of hate and make it go viral. I think that would really hit home with many.
That's a very good way to describe it. All I saw in downtown Santa Rosa, CA was a few hundred mostly old people carrying poorly-written signs and ambling around shouting pathetic rants of hate towards MAGA, Musk and Trump.

What would the easiest way be to identify a group of people that you wanted to know their identity. Well, have them all assemble in one location at one time. Congratulations morons you just all got made.
The protest was pretty lame here in Democrat-occupied Sonoma County, CA. Most of the paid or brainwashed Libs gathered in downtown Santa Rosa and didn't make much of a stir for Saturday shoppers. It was far more crowded during the George Floyd worship fest nearly 5 years ago...but then a lot of Libs needed an excuse to get outside and vent their overemotional frustrations during the Covid b.s..

My family goes back several generations. Mostly farmers and ranchers although I left the ranch to work at another so-called ranch in Marin County as I went into the N. CA Entertainment Industry in the early 1980's. It was a very creative time for about 25 years. Me and my co-workers could thumb our noses at Hollywood - the latter of which always came calling when it came to SFX and sound design for their major films. Then Disney and its woke agenda took over. Ugh! I'm retired Thank the Lord.
I loved San Francisco and Sonoma growing up in the 1970s through the mid-1990s. Most of California really sucks now-a-days, but my family and friends are here and we're doing our best to remain sane in this commie occupied land.
I lived in Napa CA so I know Sonoma very well, thanks God I live in Florida now.
I'd love to move to NC. I have friends who left CA and moved there or to TN and FL. My DH and family won't leave the Golden State, so here I am. Time will tell whether or not it was wise to stay. I have seen more than a few of my liberal friends, co-workers and neighbors change their outlook due to Democrat insanity. But this state is so corrupt and leftist-controlled that I don't know if it will make a change anytime soon.

I do pray daily for strength, wisdom and protection against the forces of darkness that control the thoughts and actions of California's so-called leaders. Anyway, God's will be done. I'm grateful to have a loving DH, mostly conservative family and friends surrounding me here in Commiefornia.

If not organic, someone is definitely footing a pretty heavy bill to run them.
Say you pay the $40 hourly rate that is floating around and block out four hours (the protests seem to end around lunch). Target 10k people.
40 * 4 * 10,000 = $1.6 million per event.
Even when the NGOs were fully funded they weren't doing stuff like this regularly. It almost feels like a white hat energy drainage op. These protests aren't having any effect on policy, and the themes are scattered and nonsensical.
Also consider how it feels as a genuine protestor to show up and realize that a good chunk of people there were paid, insincere, and just reading scripts?
If they were spending THEIR OWN money, there'd be a problem. However, all indications are that it's OUR money being spent, so they don't worry about it.
IIRC, "protesters" for previous "events" were given specific roles to play. So, it'd be no surprise if the instructions for the "Hands Off" rent-a-mobbers would explicitly tell them not to disclose their status and to act like "normal" lefty "protesters".
