Where there is no vision the people perish. May America perish no more. I want manufacturing, highly desire it. The idiot Yellen speaks only for her money masters.
I remember when democrats said that manufacturing jobs weren’t coming back and that Trump didn’t have a magic wand. I guess Trump does have a magic wand and it is called tariffs.
Except then he and everyone else says that tariffs are there to improve trade negotiations between countries.
He's paused all tariffs except the ones with China.
It takes time and money to move manufacturing back to the states. It's not something that can be done in a few weeks.
And no matter what, the cost difference for labor in places like China and India and the US is reason enough for companies to just suffer through the tariffs, no matter how long.
Nike and other shoe and clothing companies pay people in India and Bangladesh 1-2 dollars per day. Not per hour, but per day. Compare that to a federal minimum wage in the US of $7.25/hr (not to mention things like over time, holiday pay, health insurance, etc...Oh, and all the environmental regulations they'll be subject to)and you can see why few companies will see the benefit of moving their manufacturing back to the states.
At the very most, maybe a company or two will make a huge spectacle out of moving some of their manufacturing back to the US. But pay attention to how many jobs it brings here. I'd bet money that it would be just the smallest fraction of their business overall, and it's nothing but a PR publicity stunt. And when no one was paying attention anymore, they'd quietly shut it down and give that work back to whatever country has the rest of their manufacturing business.
Tariffs will only bring manufacturing jobs back to the US if they're losing enough money to make it worth their while. And it will have to be some extremely high tariffs to overrule the difference between paying labor 1-2 dollars a day and $7.25+/hr.(plus benefits).
You can't force business back to the US when you're claiming that the tariffs are to improve trade between countries AND you keep pausing the tariffs. Or exempting major consumer products from the tariffs.
Did you not notice that Trump has paused all the tariffs except China for 90 days? Or that he has exempted smart phones and other major tech gadgets from the tariffs with China?
Please explain to me how any of what I've said here points to companies rushing to set up manufacturing in the US. Sincerely, please explain to me your reasoning.
Clueless gnome pushes globalism. That's all she knows.
I lose IQ points every time I watch her.
There are enough of us left that remember with the United States was really all about, and the quality of life it brought everyone.
Has she ever been right about anything?
Yes. She’s right about being wrong.
Where there is no vision the people perish. May America perish no more. I want manufacturing, highly desire it. The idiot Yellen speaks only for her money masters.
Invidia has announced they will be building AI super computers in the US. I guess this penguins false narrative is failing
