I want to know who Hitler really was. Was he controlled opposition or a guy who really went up against cabal and thus he and his country got crushed. I truly don’t know.

You read "some of his books"? He wrote only two: Mein Kampf was one, and Hitler's Second Book (present title) was unpublished in his lifetime. Mein Kampf laid out his fuhrerprinzip and lebensraum objectives. I don't think you read either book---or any book. What I stated lined up completely with what he wrote.
And I don't believe you have read enough to know what you are talking about. There is no "mainstream narrative." There are individual sources, all dealing with the same events. Not a single one of the sources has a "Mainstream Seal of Approval" certification.
It is a funny thing when many independent historians look at a pageant of events and write down views that are essentially consistent throughout---and certain people look at this consistency and declare it to be proof of a vast falsehood. Such consistency is normally the evidence of truth. But when a truth is unpalatable to a predisposition, it must be rejected and grounds for rejection must be found, however spurious or delusional.
