But look at the rim of the glasses. The salt is uninterrupted. No straws. How did they drink them? Once your lips touch it, some of the salt stays on your lips, leaving noticeably less salt on the rim. No lips have touched those glasses...

I agree, whatever they are, they are not Margaritas. That's a sugar rim with a cherry. No one would put a cherry on a Margarita.
At least not in the US. I've never been to El Salvador so I cannot speak for their recipes or choice of garnishment...
