I wonder why eggs aren’t on the list? Maybe because the drop is triple digits? I saw eggs for $2.20 a dozen this week. Granted it was for like a seven dozen box, but a few months ago the price on that box was over double.
My observation is some of the major grocery stores definitely have a pricing strategy to gouge wherever possible. Some others seem to have a more simple pricing strategy where they tack a desired margin onto what they pay.
I’m pretty sure Aldi is an example of a chain that just tacks on a margin.
A large percentage of that is state and federal tax. Check out how much federal tax on cigarettes went up during Obama"s term. Almost enough to make me quit smoking.
Incredible! I want to start feeling it in the grocery stores soon though.
Exactly! Don't buy from overpriced stores. Let them feel the competition.

They're still at 8.99 here in commie California ...
But that's just the major grocery stores, you can get lower prices a few places, but I haven't seen them below 4.49 anywhere.
Damn!

I remember a few years back paying 33 cents a dozen for them at Aldi's!
I think people need to understand the difference between loss leader sales and average prices
Yeah, loss leaders are right up there with bait & switch.
Everything still super expensive here. Not sure where they got their numbers.
Where’s here? My usual grocery shopping has dropped $50/month.
Did cigarettes and drinkin liquor go down?
Asking for a friend...
I'd really like to see that elusive $0.99 gas tho... even for just a little bit.

Roger that...
Well, maybe if we have another pandemic and lock downs and demand drops out the bottom, we'll get to see that 99c gas again. 🤷♀️
Doesn't produce like tomatoes and lettuce typically drop in the spring/summer when local produce is in season?
Not in Commiefornia
