I doubt public executions will ever be allowed in America based on the 8th Amendment protection from "cruel and unusual punishment." I understand every last rebuttal anyone could make to that and it still doesn't change my mind as it would most likely require an Amendment to the Constitution.
It's not a good look, optics wise. This would do serious damage to the USA's reputation, to Trump's reputation and Americans would be looked at unfavourably for decades to come, as the history books twist it all up and make it look even worse.
This term, Trump seems to be taking the high road on a lot of issues. That's certainly not to say he's opposed to putting foot to ass when required. Quite the opposite. Those seem to be the optics. Publically getting medieval on them isn't in step with him and the current narrative war.
This would give the cabal shitbirds a colossal pile of ammunition on a silver platter. Trump isn't going to let them punk him or us...If you don't believe that, you're telling us you've never read The Art of the Deal. I'm going to defer to his plan on this and not mine...
Now...that said, let me make myself very clear.
Most of us here emotionally want payback - myself included. I want to see public hangings of these evil bastards in the worst way. Pay per view - the whole nine...I don't want them to just hang, oh nooo...I want them to hang, drop into a chipper and the remains burnt to a crisp before being scattered into the ocean.
There's a reason they're not putting me in charge of justice because generations of stored up livid angst, vitriol, piss and vinegar could be turned into an incredible art form if just given the chance.
So...emotion fueled stuff aside, I hope cooler heads prevail... because I don't want Americans looked at like the world still looks at your average German (knotzees) decades later... Think about it.
What do you guys think about a porta potty diverter that pipes liquid directly to [NO NAME] mcstain's grave? I'm sure some of you have some other brilliant ideas I didn't think of yet!
Optics aside, doing it willy-nilly is unconstitutional based on Supreme Court precedent and previous interpretation of the wording in the 8th Amendment. Trump has been nothing but Constitutional along the way so all signs point to "not happening" ... unless they've already BEEN executed and they put on a show for the sake of public accountability which is where we go into the optics with the what-if. I imagine more people than not would be okay with it to be quite honest given the degenerate moral decay in large population centers across the country. Most people will be against treason and especially, crimes against children. If we know anything about Trump and his Deep State intentions, it's that this can NEVER happen again so public accountability could be on the table with actors and not actual executions. I don't know how it will play out but anything is possible though not probable.
I DO know that I've personally forgiven all known and unknown crimes, no matter how terrible they may be. I pray all involved find Christ and repent before they die. They'll get their adequate judgment from The Judge when they leave this life. We can only hope they've found Christ before then.
I dunno Bobby...It could very well be that there's been executions and GITMO "activities" we don't yet know about... and probably many we won't ever know about.
I always keep that image of JAG & MI from the 2016 inauguration speech filed away for rainy days when I need a reminder...
It stops right here, right now...
We only KNOW what the crumbs point to... and even then, there's plausible deniability...multiple meanings exist... Etc.
What punishment is cruel and unusual? That it is public? That they are executed? Cruel and unusual would be drawing and quartering, or flaying alive, etc. Injecting someone with a sedative and something that stops the heart is not cruel. Heck, people are increasingly being euthanized, so that can't be cruel and unusual.
If you really do care knowing, your answers can be found by reviewing the details of Furman v. Georgia (1972) and Lockett v. Ohio (1978) for relevant Supreme Court precedent.
This will be one wildly hot summer.
Make military tibunals great again!
Make public hangings the norm again!

July 4 hangings or Guantanamo or Alcatraz.
All of them. We're so hungry for all of them
Make it so…Picard hand gesture…

Public executions were the norm until relatively recently...
...right up until Supreme Court precedent and interpretation of the law under the 8th Amendment made it go away. Which brings us full circle:
It will require a Constitutional Amendment to change that.
I appreciate your input however it changed nothing.
I doubt it as well.
Here's why:
